It was only a few weeks ago when I made note of the fact that ESPN was in the early stages of planning a 30 for 30 or an E: 60 on Ric Flair. Though I do believe at this point it is becoming a little clearer that ESPN is doing a 30 for 30 documentary on the Nature Boy I do think they could have done either and both would have been fantastic. At this point the documentary is still in the developing or early stages and most likely wouldn't air until sometime next year.
As of this writing it has been said that WWE will allow ESPN access to their wide array of video footage of Ric Flair which covers pretty much his entire career considering WWE owns both the AWA, and WCW tape libraries. For the most part Flair wrestled in Jim Crockett Promotions which later was to be known as WCW and would get his start in the AWA. Also it seems like ESPN will have a crew at Survivor Series and will be doing interviews with various WWE Superstars about Flair's career and his legacy in the Wrestling business. One has to wonder will ESPN include the influence Flair has had on the Indianapolis Colts considering the players use his old catchphrase in their post game celebration.
I love looking back wrestling's past. I view my job as bring new life to the part of wrestling some people thought was gone.
