A few months ago I was watching one Jeff Jarrett's hype videos for GFW and he said "Wrestling is on the brink of another golden age" or something like that. Right now I am starting to believe him, because think about when was the last time 5 different wrestling companies (TNA, ROH, WWE, NJPW, & PPW) all had National TV deals. Through Lucha Underground in the mix also and you don't have to look to far to see just how healthy this business is right now and it is a great feeling.
If you are unaware who the folks are at PPW or Paragon Pro-Wrestling it's ok before the news broke that they have gotten a National TV deal I think most people out of their region didn't know who they were either. However, once June rolls around everyone who has access to the network known as Pop TV will know who they are also. Yes!! As of earlier this week the Vegas wrestling company known as Paragon Pro-Wrestling has signed a long term contract with POP TV. At this time the plan for the show is to book a very old school style show, which will be taped on the second Tuesday of every month. The tapings will take place at Samstown in Las Vegas, which had been the home of Future Stars of Wrestling.
For those that may not know what POP TV is well it was once called the TV Guide Network and is owned by CBS and Lions Gate. Paragon Pro has been running shows out of Vegas for a little over a year now and is considered to have an old school style to the show. The promotion is owned and operated by Jeff Manning who had been running the Portland area for years and the "booker" for the promotion is Len "The Grappler" Denton. The promotion has brought in former TNA announcer Todd Kenely for the TV tapings which will happen the first Tuesday of every month.
