Moment number five started a pop culture phenomenon called Hulkamania, this era boosted the WWF to new heights and helped the WWF become the #1 Wrestling Company in the United States. But before Hulkamania said to eat your vitamins and say your prayers, Mr. Hulk Hogan had to defeat the Iron Sheik in January of 1984. After Hogan won the Match Hulkamania ran wild for 9 years ending at King of the Ring 1993 after he lost to Yokzuna and left the WWF. In the following year Hulk Hogan would proceed to jump ship over to the WCW in the spring on 94. Then Hulk would end up turning heel for the first time in his career at Bash at the Beach 1996 when he helped form the NWO with Hall & Nash.
Following the closure of WCW, Hulk ended up going to the WWE and would hold the WWE Championship one more time. Also he would become a former WWE Tag Team Champions with Edge after they defeated the former champions on July the 4th. Looking back Hogan has become one of the biggest names in wrestling history and their is no denying the impact that Hulk Hogan has had on the wrestling business since he entered the business.
One thing I do know is that in January of 1984 when Hulk Hogan returned to the WWE after a few years away from the company to face The Iron Sheik. Without this match and without this night there would be know Hulkamania and it's very likely that Hogan may not have become the huge star he did if it wasn't for Hulkamania. All this started on that fateful night in January, join me in the wrestling time machine as we go back in time to that night in 1984:
