The rumors have been flying around the internet for the last few days that Dolph Ziggler maybe leaving WWE following his contract coming to an end which is said to be happening soon. Various news sources are reporting this and have mentioned Dolph's rant on social media from prior to Extreme Rules as the proof. It has been said that unless Dolph receives I guess what he feels he deserves or has earned he will be walking away.
I am here to tell you why that would a bad thing for the WWE at this current moment in time. For the last few years WWE's roster has been extremely weak in every way possible, last year it was due to most of the roster getting injured for an extended period of time and certain people leaving the company. This year has been a heck of a lot better as half the amount of people have gotten hurt on the main roster and only one active wrestler was let go if you can call him active. Yes! Fresh is good, new is good, and the fact is that WWE needs to change up some of the matches now and again to keep things fresh. But lack of depth has halted that effort in most cases which is very unfortunate.
Now after becoming one of the best talents in the WWE Dolph maybe walking away, well in a way I can't blame him for wanting to, but everyone walked away if they weren't given the big push they though they deserved wrestling would be dead by now. Look I am not saying Dolph wouldn't be able to handle being a Main event level talent, what I am saying is that just because he wants it doesn't mean they should give it to him. Think what you will, but if Dolph leaves that's his choice, what he does after he walks away is also his choice. In my opinion I do believe Dolph was better as a heel, but does get one of the top reactions as a good guy so I am quite torn on him.
Let's take a trip back in time to around 2011 when Z True Long Island Story ruled the WWE YouTube channel and Dolph Ziggler's segment on the show become not just a staple of the show, but a highlight of it every single week. The reaction that Dolph got the night after WrestleMania back in 2013 when he was going to cash in Money in the Bank was incredible, but much like with Daniel Bryan an injury derailed his momentum. However, Dolph has become a credible name in the mid-card and a name who on then one occasion has done wonders to help the Intercontinental title's image. His work ethic is unmatched and skills are unbelievable. However, I think at this point moving him back into the World Title picture maybe to little to late. I said this when Samoa Joe's contract expired with TNA and he left the company after 9 years, "Sometimes when you have done so much in one place it is better to walk away and find greener pastures to settle and start a new." Basically Dolph leaving could be good for all parties as it could give him a fresh start the ability to be looked at by a fresh set of eyes. If potential was decided by age or just one persons opinion then the world would a totally different place then it is, and that's why not just persons opinion determines someone's potential. Just ask certain former WWE developmental talent that made it big elsewhere.
Author's Note: It's possible that Dolph will leave, but as I have said on many occasions we will have to wait and see what happens. Also I never once said he will be leaving, I just expressed my opinion that his leaving may not be a bad thing for either party involved.
