This post is basically just about looking back at the past, because I am a strong believer in keeping the past alive and this is just another way to do that. Everyone always says "wrestling was so much back in the day" and that is how this series came to be, I wanted to give people an outlet to relive the glory days of wrestling. Looking back at past shows from WWE, WCW, TNA, ECW, NWA, etc allows maybe for a new group fans to see the old school footage and give the past access to a new generation.
For this installment of Retro-Show we will be looking back and comparing the same company, but the past vs the future of the company or more closely the NWA vs WCW. For many years, numerous fans said that the golden age of wrestling was the 1980's and I don't disagree, but some fans also say that the Attitude Era was the Golden Age of Wrestling.
Now everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I expect there to be some people who think 1980’s & others who say 1990’s. But now let's compare the past to the future, which I mean Jim Crockett Promotions (MACW) from 1985 to WCW from 1998. The arena would be bigger and brighter, but is the talent much different and where the matches much different. I am not only doing this to compare which era was better, but to show the differences in pro-wrestling from the 1980's to the late 1990's.
I love looking back wrestling's past. I view my job as bring new life to the part of wrestling some people thought was gone.
