Earlier today I stumble upon the unfortunate news that Tag Team Wrestling veteran and one half of the 1980's Tag Team The Fantastics, Tommy Rogers had passed away at the age of 56. The hardest thing about being a wrestling fan is having to say goodbye to some of your favorite wrestlers way to young. Though I didn't grow up in the 1980's I was an avid fan of The Fantastics Tag Team as they in many ways helped set the stage for the high flying Tag Teams of the next generation.
During the territory era The Fantastics were one of the top teams in every company they ended up in whether it was Memphis or Carolina's it didn't matter the fans loved them. Tommy & Bobby are probably best known for their bloody feud against The Sheepherders in Memphis which actually saw them compete in a Barbed wire tag team match. Another one of the feuds this team was known was their feud in the Carolina's against the Midnight Express. The era of the 1980's was the era in which Tag team stayed together and only broke up if one of them were leaving the territory normally. The Fantastics also competed in companies like SMW, WWF, WWC in Puerto Rico, & WCCW just to name a few. Also Tommy would actually go on to have short run in ECW. The Fantastics would once again reform after a few years a part in the year 2006 on the Indy Circuit and both still remained Semi-Active.
Currently nothing is known about his passing other then he was found by his roommate late Sunday night unresponsive by his computer. The cause of his passing is currently unknown. I would like Send my deepest and sincerest Condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Mr. Rogers.
RIP Tommy Rogers

Maybe Gone But Will Never Be Forgotten!
I love looking back wrestling's past. I view my job as bring new life to the part of wrestling some people thought was gone.
