Original Plans for the World Title

A few weeks ago TNA made their relaunch official by bringing on some new stars and even though that trend has continued over the last few weeks with new faces either returning or debuting with the company, there is one thing hidden. Since his departure from the WWE last year rumors have been abound that the former United States Champion Alberto Del Rio would be heading to TNA, but he wasn't the first name on their list to win the title from Lashley.

The first name from TNA that came to mind to face Lashley was former Grand Champion Drew Galloway before his contract expired and he left the company this meant Galloway was out. Next name on the list was the former resident Bully in TNA Bully Ray, but much like Hardy's he didn't take to kindly to what he felt was an unfair offer from the company and so he turned it down and now is in Ring of Honor.

Finally we get to the name on the list that actually made his debut with the company and that is Alberto El Patron. Frankly, the idea of having El Patron in TNA along with other talent like a Bully Ray would have only helped the company especially if it could've prevent the terrible feud between Josh & JB from taking place. As long as they actually allow Patron some freedom to the character that he wants and portrays elsewhere then this should be a very profitable relationship, but if they try and make him into something similar to what the WWE did it will work out just as badly as it in the WWE. Looking at how successful he has been internationally and in Lucha someone has be missing something as to the reason that El Patron hasn't been able to translate the success into American companies.

Which plans do I like better well if I am being honest it is hard to say which are better because nobody knows what plans would have been if Ray or Galloway were the ones challenging for the title instead of El Patron. The one thing I will say is the plans that they went with was such a boarder line clusterf*** that anything would have been better in my opinion.
