Though this might seemingly be a different type of video for this series I figured changing up might be a good thing especially considering I was running out of YouTube shows to use for the series.
The talent featured in the video is one of if not the best high flyer in wrestling today his name is Ricochet and if you have never seen him in the ring you don't know what your missing. Honestly I am not sure that their is anything that this kid can't do, I mean he has the talent and natural ability to be a star anywhere he goes. Currently Ricochet is apart of various companies including: NJPW, PWG, Lucha Underground, Dragon Gate USA, & it's parent company Dragon Gate in Japan.
Ricochet is also the DGUSA Open The Freedom Gate World Champion and is also the current Lucha Underground Champion under the name Prince Puma. He is a talented wrestler and has an extremely bright future ahead of him as he currently is only 27 years old.
If your board one day and are looking for a match to watch, I have one for you to watch. Ricochet's match against the man once known as Pac and now known as Neville in the WWE is an incredibly breath taking match, as their is no limit to what both men can do in the ring.
The enigma of the wrestling business that is PPW (Paragon Pro-Wrestling) also known as the company that came from out of nowhere with a TV deal. A little more has become known about this company and where they will be taping their shows, well their first TV taping will be June 9th at Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, NV. For more info on the venue or how to purchase tickets click the link.
Below are just a few names the are a part of the PPW Roster:
PPW World Champion: Jessy Sorenson, he is best known for his short lived stint in TNA and has also made some appearance a part of ROH for a short time. Based upon the little I know about Jessy he hasn't never really been able to catch on anywhere, because he never stuck around long enough. I hope that PPW is different and that Jessy has been able to show his skill and untapped potential.
Paragon Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions: Hammerstone and Chamberlain, are two of the most powerful competitors in the sport today. Alex Chamberlain mixes agility and aggression while Hammerstone physically dominates his opponents with his strength and brutality. These two are unknown's on the National scale and will be able to show their skills and talent to a wider audience.
Joey Ryan, the Independent wrestling veteran and one of the founders of Pro-Wrestling Guerrilla in California with four other wrestlers. Ryan has worked for all of the top promotions around the world including TNA, ROH, & WWE. Joey has also had part in various independent promotion from all over the US. When it comes to Joey Ryan I just have one question "Who Wants a Mustache Ride?"
Vampire "Gangrel" Warrior, this man is best known for his time as Gangrel when he was member of the WWE. Though Gangrel wouldn't have much success in the WWE he would have enough to become a mid-card staple during the Attitude Era and the person who helped spring board the careers of future stars of the industry like Edge, Christian, and the Hardy Boys. Gangrel is one of the most well respected and well known members of the PPW roster.

In any field of possible advancement there is almost always someone who did it first, and it field of documenting how things go behind the curtain, on the road, or even in the broadcast position it was Kevin Steen. But with the fact that Kevin was signed by WWE others have taken over where he left off in that department. You saw on an earlier Indy Wrestling Video of the Day that Brian Myers aka Curt Hawkins started a web series similar to Kevin's old series almost right after his release from WWE.
Brian isn't the only wrestler who followed in Kevin's footsteps and in fact Kevin worked in PWG with the Tag Team who also took over where Kevin left off. I am of course talking about the former PWG Tag Team Champion "World's Cutest Tag Team" of Candice LeRae & Joey Ryan. They have been filming their show since October 2013 and now have reached episode 113. Basically if you have never seen one of Kevin's, Brian's, or Joey/Candice then to reiterate what I mentioned above these videos give the fans an inside look into life on the road for wrestlers, things that go on behind the curtain or before the show and in some cases in the commentary position. Instead of giving you the first video from their series or the most recent video I did a little bit of digging and found one from around the halfway point of the series so far:
Now a few weeks ago I started this series using a post about Shotgun Saturday Night, and this series hasn't been heard from since then. For those who maybe unaware what this series is all about, well let me explain I go searching on the internet for blogs about wrestling and I look for post on those blogs that I think are worth sharing with you guys & gals. Fact of the matter is the reason that I do this is to give other people the same opportunity I have every now again and that is to allow my writing to reach a pretty big audience. For this week the blog of the week is about Combat Zone Wrestling and why your opinion of the company is probably wrong.
Before I get into the excerpt from the real post I have to say that I agree with this article completely, because I feel that CZW has taken so much crap over the years that even if the product has gotten better nobody would know, because nobody is willing to give it a chance. I will be the first to admit that under it's previous ownership the lack of actual wrestling was very prevalent. But since the new ownership took over a few years back the violence has been toned down and the actual wrestling has finally found a home and CZW has become more then just a death match wrestling company.
Below is an excerpt from the article:
"Today, CZW is still run by DJ Hyde. While the deathmatch is still very much a part of the equation at CZW courtesy of men like Matt Tremont, Danny Havoc, Devon Moore, Lucky 13 and Conor Claxton, the focus is still on mainstream, traditional wrestling. Despite this, there’s still a negative stigma attached to the company. Despite all the men who came from CZW to go on to the WWE and become top stars in the entire industry, CZW is still seen as a place full of untalented, overweight backyard wrestlers who like to use weapons and do nothing else.
Even though the likes of Moxley and Callihan etc. have moved on, CZW is still filled to the brim with very talented wrestlers who excel in traditional wrestling. Drew Gulak, BLK Jeez, the Crist brothers, Joe Gacy, and Joey Janela are all some of the most talented individuals on the independent wrestling scene today. So if you’re one of those people stuck with the images of Mondo and Wifebeater slicing each other with a weedwhacker and turn your nose up at it, saying that CZW isn’t “real wrestling” (which is an oxymoron, by the way) I hope you reconsider. Go on Youtube and see what DJ Hyde has turned CZW into. It is bound to change your mind, or at least challenge some of the negative perceptions you may have about the company."

At this point Lucha Underground is showing why they are a unique company, because unlike every other wrestling Lucha Underground actually has an offseason. Currently Lucha is actually in between seasons and is projected to begin taping for Season 2 in August. Right now current plans have both Rey Mysterio & Alberto El Patron being pegged as the promotions top stars for season 2 which makes sense, because men have huge mainstream appeal from their time in the WWE; which could allow new viewers to give the program a chance because they recognize who Alberto & Rey are.
The promotion also is in talks with two TV companies to further expand the reach of the show in both the United States and Mexico. Lucha is apparently currently in talks to get a Spanish language version of the show on Univision in the US; also they are in talks with the TV carrier Televisa in Mexico. If these deals go through it would huge for the company with providing more financial stability and also more exposure for the company. Keeping these possibilities in mind Lucha could end up with a stronger exposure then AAA has currently. Which should tell you something about how big getting these deals would be for the company.
However, looking at it from the other perspective if these TV deals don't go through then the company will likely have to take some cost cutting measures to cover the losses. One cost cutting measure they would likely take is moving to a different location to produce shows, because their current location is expensive. The place they would likely move is from LA where they currently are located for shows to Texas which would be cheaper for them when it comes to flying in the Mexican talent.
As the world of wrestling changes those who are a part of the world of wrestling must attempt to change with the sport. Some jump into the changes with both feet and embrace while others are so far behind the changes that well those are the ones who are finally joining Myspace. Those who embrace the changes have the luxury of being first to do most things and in wrestling when it comes to social media and the first to do things have to be talking Colt Cabana. In many respects Colt was one of the first wrestlers to do a podcast, video skits, might have been one of the first on social media. Not really sure about the last point, but am almost 100% sure that Colt was the first wrestler to start a podcast and if you don't know what video skits I am talking about then you probably never saw his stuff with Marty DeRosa.
Well now Colt, has taken another as his newest series is called "Cut My Promo" where he looks for random people to cut his promo for an upcoming event. Pretty self explanatory. Watch as Colt & special guest Chris Hero have a random person cut a promo for his upcoming show with Pro-Wrestling NOAH.
