Moment in Time Update
Since 2012, I have been grabbing moments from all over wrestling history and revisiting them to give them the spotlight they deserve. Over the years we have looked at a variety of moments and great memories putting on display just how many there are and how many we still have to look through. Recently, I have been thinking about other monthly posts I could do and I know I have tried to replace this series before, but I am serious this time. Don't get me wrong I love this series, but I just think it's time for us to put this one on hiatus.
At this point I am unsure what the future holds for this series other than probably bringing it back in a few months. Keep an eye out on Twitter for polls as a I try and come up with a new monthly post series with you help. I just want to put one thing over and that is this doesn't change how much I value the history of wrestling and how important the history of wrestling will continue being on this website. The point is that I am a little burned out with this series and want to change things up so I am putting this one on the shelf for now and then will bring it back in a few months maybe.

Moment in Time: Parade of Champions
In the years before the monthly PPV event for different territories one of those was The Parade of Champions event held by World Class Championship Wrestling. Specifically though I am looking at the first ever Von Erich Parade of Champions which was held in memory of David Von Erich who had passed away a few months before the event was held.
The one thing that this event is known for the main event of the show which saw Kerry Von Erich face off with Ric Flair for the NWA World Title. This event was also known for the match that took place between Chris Adams/Sunshine against Jimmy Garvin/Precious as Adams was feuding with Jimmy Garvin at the time. For those who don't know the passing of David came at a bad time for the company as he actually had the NWA title in his crosshairs but was cut down in his prime. Sadly, it was David's passing that caused Kerry to win even though in my opinion Kerry was more than capable to win the title on his own but never really got the opportunity due to the level of talent.

Moment in Time: Austin 3:16 is Born
I have done this before and now it is time for another Moment in Time. The point of this is to look back at The Moments in Wrestling history that made you say this is why I love this sport. Next moment is one that many will never ever forget it happen June 23 1996 and is called by many as the beginning of the Attitude Era. I actually heard a story told by either Austin or someone who worked backstage at the time that this promo was never suppose to happen, but Austin went out and did the promo anyway. Also as many people already know originally Triple H was pegged to win the King of the Ring, but didn't in the long run as punishment because of the Curtain Call incident earlier that year. Imagine if this promo never happened where would the WWE be right.
The moment I am talking about is King of the Ring 1996 the promo that gave birth to the catchphrase Austin 3:16 said I just Whip your Ass. That surely a moment that Wrestling fans especially those that saw what happened next will never forget: The Promo is below.
Moment in Time: Shawn Michaels is down and Looks Hurt
"For it to work we had to make as real as possible, this was around when Cal Ripken had just broke Lou Gehrig's streak and I was watching as Chris Berman and the other announcers were just slient as Cal went around the stadium for the fans to congratulate him on breaking the streak. For the people to believe it the announcers had to shut up for the segment then get up and check on Shawn. It worked to perfection everyone thought Shawn was out." (Excerpt from WWF Timeline: 1995 with Kevin Nash)
As someone who thinks of myself as a huge Shawn Michaels mark when I found out this happened I was shocked and I thought Shawn was really hurt because he had just came back from the concussion not to long before this match with Owen. Either way it was masterfully done and worked to perfection as many fans were crying in their seats on that night back in 1995. For those who have never seen it or who have and want to see it again enjoy the video below

Moment in Time: Hulkamania is Born
Moment number five started a pop culture phenomenon called Hulkamania, this era boosted the WWF to new heights and helped the WWF become the #1 Wrestling Company in the United States. But before Hulkamania said to eat your vitamins and say your prayers, Mr. Hulk Hogan had to defeat the Iron Sheik in January of 1984. After Hogan won the Match Hulkamania ran wild for 9 years ending at King of the Ring 1993 after he lost to Yokzuna and left the WWF. In the following year Hulk Hogan would proceed to jump ship over to the WCW in the spring on 94. Then Hulk would end up turning heel for the first time in his career at Bash at the Beach 1996 when he helped form the NWO with Hall & Nash.
Following the closure of WCW, Hulk ended up going to the WWE and would hold the WWE Championship one more time. Also he would become a former WWE Tag Team Champions with Edge after they defeated the former champions on July the 4th. Looking back Hogan has become one of the biggest names in wrestling history and their is no denying the impact that Hulk Hogan has had on the wrestling business since he entered the business.
One thing I do know is that in January of 1984 when Hulk Hogan returned to the WWE after a few years away from the company to face The Iron Sheik. Without this match and without this night there would be know Hulkamania and it's very likely that Hogan may not have become the huge star he did if it wasn't for Hulkamania. All this started on that fateful night in January, join me in the wrestling time machine as we go back in time to that night in 1984:

Moment in Time: Bret Hart's Career Ends
In November of 1997 the wrestling world changed forever at the WWE's annual Survivor Series event Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart fought for what would be the final time as Bret would leave the WWF for the WCW. The event would become known as the Montreal Screwjob after Vince McMahon for of the first official times came to the ring as an authority figure and instructed the time keeper to ring the bell and screwed Hart out of the WWF title. Following his departure from the WWF his contract prevented him from appearing on WCW TV for at least a month which sort of killed a lot of his momentum.
His first feud with Ric Flair starting in 1998 rebuilt some of his momentum, but then he lost it all again until one night in Toronto; however that's a story for a different day. Fast forward to 1999 and the "Hitman" is World champion and running WCW heading into the final PPV of the millennium against Goldberg. Now Goldberg was never that good in the ring, but prior to the match with Bret he had expanded his moves set to include a new side kick. Near the end of the match he went on and did the kick to Bret, sadly the kick connected a little too much and caused Bret to end up with a concussion. The reason this match is special as this will be the last match of Bret Hart's active wrestling career. Do you remember?

Moment in Time: Wrestlemania XXX Opening Segment
Over the last few years Wrestlemania had been somewhat lackluster, because of the consistent rematches and lack of originality we saw on the cards. This made people not really enjoy most Wrestlemania's over the last couple of years. Also that is the reason why the bar was set so low on the expectations for Wrestlemania XXX this year and I don't know about you guys, but Wrestlemania XXX definitely overreached my expectations for the show.
However, it didn't take that long for them to change my expectations as I was shocked by the opening segment on the show. As far as I am concerned not only was this Rock's first WWE appearance since Wrestlemania 29 and the supposed falling out with "WWE Creative" but it was in many respects one of the greatest combinations in history. Let me say what I mean, what I mean is that seeing Steve Austin, Rock,& Hulk Hogan all in the ring together at Wrestlemania is something we have never seen before. Now I ask if you feel like join me in reliving this great moment by re-watching this segment.

Moment in Time: Putting the Series on Hold
Around a year and a half ago I decided to retire the Superstar Recall series after around four years and it was at that point that this series would become the longest running series I had on the website. I had always enjoyed looking back at history and remembering the moments that either most don't remember and should remember, much like the last part or edition of the series the moment that Arn gave way his spot isn't always remembered as a great memory due to the events that followed which I will not get into. When that moment happen on the August 27th edition of Nitro it was a shocking moment and a moment that I for one still haven't forgotten even though I haven't seen the segment in a long time, but that's the point of the series as I want to spotlight moments that aren't always spotlighted.
Though this may seem like this post is just baiscally going over what this series is about and giving insight into why I chose to start doing this series back in the day when I started. But that is because I haven't gotten to my point just yet as my point is this I have made the decision to take a break from this series. I will not be taking as much a break from this series as I did for the Superstar Recall series as that break was a little over a year. This time around this break will be a little shorter and I have been thinking about starting new monthly post series like revamping the Superstar Recall series.
I have a new series in mind that will be kicking off in the next few weeks and that means that I will be shutting down this section of the site for a time. Though as of right now the superstar recall section has still yet to really kick off, but I will be investing more into this month and as we move to the new year. As far this series we will be taking a break from this series for a few months just to change things up and give new series a test run and then depending on the success of the new series and the test runs it will determine when or if this series does return in the future. But as of now it will likely be back by the early part of next year so keep an eye out as it will not be gone for good.

Moment in Time: Arn Anderson Give His Spot to Hennig

For this moment it is a special moment but the things that followed it were disrespectful and idiotic on the part of WCW. On the August 27th edition of Nitro there was a segment involving the Horsemen and Mene Gene. The reason this is a big deal, because tonight was the night that The Enforcer, Double A Arn Anderson announced his retirement from Pro-Wrestling, and offered Curt Hennig his spot in the Horsemen. However this post is just about this moment and has nothing to do with the disrespectful, idiotic, and shameful thing WCW allowed to happen next week on Nitro. This about one of the greatest moments in WCW history, involving three of the greatest workers in Wrestling history. Take a look and relive the great moment from August 1997:
Note:
Hennig was never suppose to join the NWO and was suppose to remain a member of the Horsemen, but sadly plans changed and instead of finally giving the Horsemen a break they chose to give another to the NWO and now we are left thinking about what might have been. If only someone wasn't out to get the Horsemen.

Moment in Time: Cages are Rated XXX
With a lot of questions surrounding the future of moment in time and the concept of monthly posts in general. This series is actual at this point the longest running series on this site. For every wrestling company there are always a number firsts that the fans always remember like the crowning of the companies first champions or first cage match or first PPV or many other possibilities. Back in 2004, TNA had a lot of milestones one of the landmarks that took place in 2004 for TNA was their first ever "Sixed Sided Steel Cage Match." At the time Triple X and America's Most Wanted were entangled in the top feud in the company and it all came to ahead at the Turning Point PPV in December 2004:
Moment in Time: DX Invades WCW
We have gone through a lot of great moments from the past and the present like Vicki's final moments in the WWE and Kurt Angle's debuts in TNA wrestling. As we continue looking back at wrestling's past.
But today we move to another great moment, one of the Greatest moments of the Attitude Era and because of how innovative it was it became a reason WWE won the war. I am talking about when DX invaded WCW on 4/27/98 take a look:

Moment in Time: Latina Heat Finally Gets Cheered
With her return a few weeks ago as a part of the GM hunting conversation prior to the announcement of Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan as the official General Managers of Raw and Smackdown. Now we jump back to the end of her original run with the WWE ended back in the fall of 2014. I thought that instead of going very far back in time on the first edition of this series why not stay recent with a great moment that happened not long ago. This moment in particular was this managers last appearance in the WWE and the first time I believe that she got cheered. A few months ago we saw the end of an era in the WWE when Vickie Guerrero walked away from the WWE after 9 years with the company. Vickie had been on the road for almost her entire tenure with the WWE which really started in around mid 2006 and kept up until mid 2014. From the time she became a weekly character to the time she left Vickie was one of if not the most over person on the roster. Vickie left on top and in the best way possible and though some maybe happy she is gone there is no doubt that Vickie left a legacy in the WWE of a great manager.
Vickie debuted in 2005 as a part of the Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio feud over "the custody of Domenic." However, Vickie didn't become a regular character until around the middle of 2006 when Chavo would turn on Rey at Great American Bash. From the time she debuted to around a year before she left Vickie was solely responsible for brining life back to the idea of a manager being an important role in WWE again. In my book without Vickie I don't think we would have had Rosa, Zeb Coulter, or Lana featured on the programs like we do now. Vickie did her job so well that there were times when you couldn't hear what she was saying on the mic because the boos were so loud. However, to keep this some what short let me just say I never thought I would miss Vickie, but I can say that I do miss seeing Vickie because she was so good at her job and was very much an asset to the WWE. Also nothing tops her last appearance in the company, now please feel free to join me as I take a trip back in the wrestling time machine to the late summer- early fall of 2014 to when we saw Vickie Guerrero for what could be the last time:

Moment in Time Question
For the last 4 years or so I have tried on a monthly basis to shed some light on certain memorable moments in the history of pro wrestling. Many of been seen and some have never been forgotten by any fans that have seen it. As I have mentioned once or twice in the past things have to change and update it or do something give it new life like I did with the Let's Play series last year.
My question now is what does the future hold for this series? At this point I am not sure truthfully what the future does hold for the series and after 4 years it has become my longest running series, but changes isn't always bad. Right now I will say that this isn't the last post for the series but I do think the series could be wrapping up very soon, unless my opinion changes. However, unlike I have done in the past where I just made the decision to make changes or completely end a series I will be allowing you guys and gals to have a say in what happens to the series. Stay tuned in on Twitter as I will be posting a poll to help me decide which way I should go with this section and the series as a whole.

Moment in Time: Kurt Angle Debuts in TNA Wrestling
Over 10 years ago at this point by far this was TNA Wrestling's biggest signing ever as they found the man to carry the torch and the man to send them over the hill into actually being on the radar. In October of 2006 the "Only Olympic Gold Medal Winner in Wrestling" made his TNA debut three nights before that years Bound For Glory event where he was set to be the special enforce for the Main Event match between NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett & Sting. To back track a little bit back in June of 2006 the WWE was forced to let Angle go after he refused to go to rehab for a wellness policy violation, and though his tenure with the new ECW had just begun everyone knew it'd be short lived.
They want to talk about a "New Era" well when that music played in the Impact Zone we got our "New Era" and it truly was that not just by name but it actually was new. I remember 10 years sitting watching Spike TV on Thursday Night shocked to see Kurt walk out and interrupt Samoa Joe then to brawl with Joe was just the icing on the cake. The amount that Kurt has done for TNA since his arrival in the company over a decade ago was in describable and almost immeasurable. Some say without Kurt Angle then TNA Wrestling would've went under a long time ago and though I do think that is somewhat true your also forgetting which company your talking about because TNA always finds a way to survive. Now look back at TNA when the company had potential:
