Monday Morning QB: Orton Turns Face

I would keep Randy Orton's battle royal victory to earn his Summerslam World Title shot against Chris Benoit. Summerslam would change though as I would allow Benoit to hold onto the World Title even though the novelty of his reign was wearing off by then I don't think Orton was ready for the spot and the ending could've gone differently. I would have Ric Flair at ringside with Orton accidentally cost Orton the match and the title shot.

August 16: Evolution start the show with Orton accepting Flair's apology for accidentally causing him to lose last night against Benoit. Bischoff announces that Orton & Triple H will fight Benoit & Maven where the winners get the chance to pick the stipulation for Unforgiven (If Evolution win next weeks tag match).

August 23: Chris Jericho pins Tyson Tomoko, Orton & Triple H defeat Benoit & Maven (Orton pins Maven after an RKO), Triple H wants the title shot and Orton thinks about it, but walks out not announcing anything as an angry Triple H follows him.

August 30: Highlights of last week, Benoit & Bischoff call out Orton to find out what his stipulation choice is and Orton appears to announce he decided on a Cage Match. Later on Flair & Triple H both question Orton's decision for a Cage saying they can't him being locked in a cage and Orton says "I don't want any help."

September 6: Chris Benoit decimates Chris Cage and then talks "Orton in six days we will enter a steel cage and wage war for this championship, I know I might not leave the champion, but I also know I will be in their with a worthy opponent." Orton defeats Rosey and then talks "I didn't expect such a humble speech Chris at Summerslam you gave me the toughest test of my career and now I will be ready to change the result." Batista & Flair vs Jericho & Michaels ends in a No-Contest setting up a six man on Sunday.

Unforgiven: Triple H, Ric Flair, and Batista lose to Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, and Maven in a six man tag, Randy Orton escapes the Cage to defeat Chris Benoit and win WWE World Championship. Bloody and showing the effects of a war Orton holds the World Heavyweight Title high as Unforgiven ends the new champion.

September 13: The following night Randy Orton is brought out by Chris Benoit to congratulate him on the win and shake his hand then a returning William Regal appears. Regal had been nursing injuries from a brutal attack by Triple about a month ago. Regal & Eugene both congratulate the new champion and Regal asks for a title opportunity to give the youngster his first test. Benoit gladly steps back knowing he will get his chance soon and he will enjoy the fight. Ric Flair is mad wondering how Regal gets a shot, but is just complaining to Batista. Regal comes up short against Orton who has his first successful defense and post match they shake hands. Evolution is on stage looking down at Orton & Regal in the ring as the show fades to black.
