To say that Nick Aldis has been a great get for the NWA would be an understatement as it seems like the former Magnus has finally been able to tap into the potential that everyone thought he had. Recently Nick was announced that he would be going "All In" over Labor Day weekend and would defend his title against one of the promoters. The announcement of Cody Rhodes fighting Nick Aldis for the NWA Title at All In surprise a lot of fans due to most people thinking Cody would have a little bit bigger of a match. However, this could provide some background on how far the brand has come in recent years to grow back up and reach even half the level it did. At an ROH event the Worlds Champion appeared at the end of the show to answer the challenge that Cody put out at the All In Press Conference. For those who missed it Cody challenged Nick Aldis for the World Title during the press conference. However, it was something that Cody only discussed with Billy Corgan and that is something that Nick doesn't like and took to the ring to answer the challenge himself. The exchange sought a perfect back and forth between champion and challenger showing how far both men have come. In the end though it is official for September 1st as Cody will face the current NWA Worlds Chapion Nick Aldis for the title. But their was something added check it out below:

Now since the change over in ownership of the National Wrestling Alliance I have offered a lot of praise to the current owner Billy Corgan. Since becoming the owner of the NWA he has drastically improved the social media presence of the company with the incredibly unique Ten Pounds of Gold series. This series has provided an interesting opportunity to see inside the NWA especially in the build up of the Nick Aldis & Tim Storm feud. For those who may not be aware Nick Aldis the man formerly known as Magnus captured the NWA World Title last December at CZW Cage of Death. Though at first his stock within the wrestling world was pretty low following his departure from Impact Wrestling, but it finally seems he is tapping into the potential that everyone thought he had. Though some might point to someone who has gone All-In, but that's not what we are talking about here this man made his debut in the former NWA territory Championship Wrestling From Hollywood. For those who might not be aware the NWA does actually have a partnership of some kind with the company which allows the World Champion to appear on the companies events. The man who made his debut is former WWE star PJ Black formerly known as Justin Gabriel. This was a shocking debut for Championship Wrestling due to this being PJ's return from a debilitating injury from last year that he sustain base jumping. The injury he sustained tore a part his legs and ankles basically breaking every bone possible, but now after his match with the champion it's clear he is 100 percent. Following his five minute challenge which PJ Black accepted and conquered the challenge which now raises the question of if PJ will now get a title shot against Nick Aldis at a later date. Overall don't get me wrong I haven't seen much of the NWA, but Nick Aldis has come into his own as a heel & is becoming the perfect foil for a variety of challengers which makes things amazing to watch. Take a look at this episode of "Ten Pounds of Gold" below: Since the advent of the YouTube series called 10 Pounds of Gold and the rise of a social media presence for the company. Prior to the arrival of Billy Corgan and his purchase of the company from former President Bruce Tharpe the NWA had very little presence on the video sharing site, but things have changed. It is fantastic to see the once largest governing body of pro-wrestling once again reach a point where they could start thriving once again. Though some fans may point to Corgan's stay in TNA as an indication of what to except from him in other walks within the realm of wrestling and that's just not the case. Fact of the matter is now Billy has control and the ability to push the ideas that he wants to be focused on. At this point I thought that it was the right time to open the section to focus on the National Wrestling Alliance and give them the spotlight. Seeing Austin Idol not only back in wrestling, but using his skills to put the current World Champion Nick Aldis on a different level. Though in some cases peoples skills get worse as they get older it hasn't happened with Austin Idol as he is just as good he's ever been. This is just one of the many things that have made the new NWA stick out from the rest and slowly move above the position they had a few years ago. Overall I am very excited about what the future holds for the company and the continued expansion brought about by the new management.
