NWA Power: Episode 3

10/24/2019

I don't think that is has really sunk in that the National Wrestling Alliance has a weekly program in modern wrestling. I honestly have enjoyed watching NWA as it is wrestling the way that I believe it should be presented and the segments are rare in favor of in ring competition. Getting accustomed now to the new roster the company is developing on a weekly basis seeing names like Trevor Murdoch, Aron Stevens and Mr. Anderson for the first time in a few years. Combing the veterans with unknown athletes like Ricky Starks, Caleb Konley, The Dawsons, and others making for a interesting dynamic in the company.

Seeing the main event shape up the way it did this episode they ran a one show angle to bring up anticipation for the main event and next week. To try and avoid spoilers it is clear that after tonight Tim Storm will not be retiring and may have a match set for December's "Into the Fire" PPV.

One thing that has me intrigued is Nick Aldis and who will be his next challenger as I thought that was what I thought he was going to talk about in his promo, but instead the focus was on the developing story of Kamille talking. Seeing James Storm continuing a questionable feud with Jocephus after making him look like a fool twice, but Colt Cabana has fit back into the feud so the National Champion seems busy. Again though that doesn't mean Storm can't fight Nick Aldis for the title planning into another feud. I think that'd be the perfect way to get some revenge for Jocephus actually, but I think it's possible they go outside the main crop based Aldis leaving that door open during promo.

Overall I am very interested in seeing where they go from now until "Into the Fire" in December. This in my opinion, is what exactly is missing from the WWE product in recent years as there is not always a reason to comeback every week and keep watching.

NWA Power Episode 2

It is still hard to believe that now on a weekly basis the National Wrestling Alliance is one of the weekly programs I get to sit and enjoy every week. Cornette said it best during the show that at this point the NWA is giving both veterans and unknown stars a platform to show the world how good they can be. Seeing Wild Card again as well as Nick Aldis allowed them to show exactly why they are in the position they are in and are flag bearers for the NWA.

I for one prefer segments like they had on this show with Joe Galli, Nick Aldis, and Kamille as they did a sit down interview to further discuss the ending of last week's show and what could be next for Nick. The reason I liked it is, because it didn't seem hokey or to out of character anything that was said and it had a purpose. Also James Storm's interview explained how important it was to be NWA National Champion and opened the door to possibly seeing James Storm being a challenger for Nick Aldis or Eli Drake challenging James Storm in the near future. Ricky Starks is someone I have never seen before, but was impressed by the kids microphone work and he definitely can go in the ring. With veterans like Aron Stevens, Colt Cabana, and Mr. Anderson officially apart of the show now and future stars like Ricky Starks still finding there way the roster of the NWA continues to deepen by the week and things will continue to bring up the weekly question of who will show up next on NWA Power. The NWA is wrestling at it's finest.

The NWA Back in Georgia

After nearly twenty five years the National Wrestling Alliance has finally found stable ground and are ready again to stand on their own two feet again. For the last few years all ownership has done is done everything they could to reestablish the value and meaning of the long lasting wrestling promotion. Since the start of the 1900's there has been three letter that stood with pro-wrestling and that is National Wrestling Alliance. I honestly never thought I'd sit and watch modern NWA wrestling on YouTube as a new weekly program. Thanks to Dave Lagana and Billy Corgan for bringing the NWA back to it's roots and joining in on the incredible month and year we as wrestling fans have been honored to enjoy.

As for the program as to not spoil anything this was modern wrestling at it's finest and a throwback to exactly what was lost from wrestling when the NWA went into hiding. Storytelling, Emotion, Suspension of disbelief and feeling like your watching a sport that you can be entertained by and not a hokey comedic entertainment program. If you are in it for the wrestling then come to YouTube or Facebook or Fite TV and tune in every week for NWA Power and you will never be disappointed.

Studio Wrestling Set to Return

Near the end of the summer the enigmatic owner of the National Wrestling Billy Corgan made an extremely unexpected announcement. In the between since the announcement more information has been released about the upcoming Studio Wrestling show from the NWA. On Tuesday October 8, NWA Power is set to debut and you can watch this show with no restrictions, no paywalls. As far as watching the program it will premiere this Tuesday at 6:05pm Eastern and from this Tuesday it will become a weekly program airing every Tuesday, and it will air on Facebook and YouTube. The shows will also be made available on-demand through those platforms and will made available on Fite TV every Saturday Night.

I have always wondered why wrestling promotions had found more use for technology to gain some exposure. Over the last few years WWE moved to the WWE Network, Impact Wrestling began streaming on Twitch and various Independent companies have on demand services. One company that sticks out though is Major League Wrestling who has been using YouTube as an extra platform to gain more exposure for their weekly program after it airs on BelN Sports television channel. This is something that makes the NWA program unlike anything else out there, because a video sharing website has never be used as the only source of exposure for programming for a wrestling company.

At this point the first TV taping is in the books and ready to air, but with the NWA finally making a central weekly program it makes them stick out during the hottest period wrestling has seen in a long time. There is no doubting that Billy Corgan has really helped keep NWA on wrestling fans minds since he has taken over the promotion and this is an amazing next step. Another note was the NWA also announced NWA Power will be building to - their next PPV event which is set for Saturday December 14 in Atlanta. Remember on Tuesday October, 8 at 6:05 pm live on Facebook and YouTube it's the start of a new era for the National Wrestling Alliance!!
