As of early last week the man formerly known as the "New Horror Show" Sami Callahan asked for and was granted his release from the WWE developmental territory. Not much is known about Sami's sudden departure from the company, but it may have something to do with his tenure with the company being very uneventful and his presence in the company was progressively downplayed following his debut. His gimmick of being a hacker was awesome, but the little things that made the gimmick good were downplayed to the point of his gimmick seeming a little corny and not cool.
Prior to his tenure in the WWE, Solomon made a name for himself as a top star on the Independents in companies like PWG, CZW, DG USA, and Evolve. I think it's a pretty good bet that after how successful he was before WWE he wont have any trouble finding some work now post WWE.
It was a few weeks ago that I took my first look at the NXT roster and specifically one of the best Tag Team division in Wrestling. Two of the talents that have been the talk of the town over the last few months has been the current NXT Tag Team Champions of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. These two guys have shown so much talent over the last months after coming out of almost nowhere and have climbed to the top of the mountain. Dawson and Dash are the embodiment of an old school tag team and have even drawn comparisons to Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard due their in-ring style and ability to target a limb and exploit it.
Dash and Dawson are one of the many reasons why NXT has been one of the top companies in the world today and continue to remain atop the list. Though they may not have the charisma on the microphone it is sometimes just nice to see people wrestle and when you do hear them speak you know they can kick your ass.
Billy Gunn whose real name is Monty Kip Sopp has been fired by WWE after testing positive to a high rate of testosterone. from a powerlifting meet back in July. Recently Billy has been a trainer down at NXT and helped bring in James Storm. Due to the failure Gunn has a 4 year ban from powerlifting competitions. His drug test at the meet came up with a 37-1 testosterone level which is over the 4-1 limit. WWE has not announced who will replace him yet.
I wouldn't say this is a new series maybe just think of it as a test post to see if the series attracts the attention I want it to and if it does then maybe I'll continue it. After their standout performances at both Takeover: Respect and last week's episode of NXT on the WWE Network. At one point the weakness of the NXT Tag team division made many question where they would find new faces to replace those that had been promoted to the Main Roster. Enter teams like Blake & Murphy, Vaudevillians, Dawson and Wilder, and Gable & Jordan. Though they have each had their standout performances over the last few months it has more so been stealing the show every single time they enter the ring.
Many believed both guys were stuck in a bind without any direction, but they were given a chance to standout and they succeed. Much like Dawson and Wilder as well as Blake and Murphy these two men were pretty much job guys a part, well they were even enhancement talent together, but it was one win that changed everything for them. Though they haven't been a team for that long they still have all the talent and great chemistry to lead the next wave of Tag Team wrestling in WWE. They are Ready.... Willing..... and Gable to take NXT by storm and have a very bright future in the WWE.
