Recently the news broke that WWE would be giving the Von Erich boys a tryout with the company this May. At this point not much is known about the tryout other then it including the Von Erich boys. For those who may not know Ross & Marshall Von Erich are Kevin's son's and have been training in Japan as a part of Pro-Wrestling NOAH, and they were trained by Harley Race in St. Louis. Also more recently the Von Erich boys made appearances for TNA wrestling they were usually one and done appearance as the Von Erich didn't stay on as regulars with the company.
Both of the Von Erich kids are very promising, talented kids with a lot of upside, and are third generation stars of the famous Von Erich Dynasty. If Ross and Marshall are able to break into the WWE they would be able to join many fellow third generation stars like: The Rock, Randy Orton, Natalya, Curtis Axel, and others. Though the Von Erich star isn't very bright in the WWE this could be the Von Erich chance to reignite the family name once more. One thing that WWE is known for is changing talents names before they debut in NXT like they have done with almost all of the Independent wrestlers they signed like: Sami Zayn (El Generico), Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley), Seth Rollins (Tyler Black), Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson), and many others.
Those who know the Von Erich family legacy they are aware of how dark the legacy is and maybe being given new names to separate themselves from the past would help the kids succeed. In my book seeing both Marshall & Ross in the WWE would be great for the history of Wrestling as it may help the past become relevant again.
I see both perspective for changing the kids names, but I am always in partial to conserving history even if it means the kids are under a tighter microscope. However, much like numerous articles state it is fun to think what if, but they haven't even been offered a contract so we have to wait and see how the tryout goes and take it from there.
