For Wrestlemania this year we are going to be doing something a little different this year where we look back at Wrestlemania's of the past that if given the chance I would change. It's time to show how I would redo Wrestlemania 2000 and if you'd like to see my first redo from earlier this month click here. Check out the actual card from Wrestlemania 2000: WWF Wrestlemania 2000 Big Boss Man & Bull Buchanan Def. (Pin) D-Lo Brown & The Godfather 15 Minute Hardcore Battle Royal (13 Man) WWF Hardcore Title Albert & Test Def. (Pin) Al Snow & Steve Blackman Christian & Edge Def. Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy, Bubba Ray Dudley (C) & D-Von Dudley (C) Triple-Threat Tag Team Ladder WWF Tag Team Titles Terri Runnels Def. The Kat Referee: Val Venis "Catfight" Chyna & Grandmaster Sexay & Scotty 2 Hotty Def. (Pin) Dean Malenko & Eddie Guerrero & Perry Saturn 6-Person Tag Chris Benoit Def. (Pin) Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle (C) Triple-Threat WWF Intercontinental Title Chris Jericho Def. (Pin) Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle (C) Triple-Threat WWF European Title Kane & Rikishi Def. (Pin) Road Dogg & X-Pac Triple H (C) Def. (Pin) Mick Foley, The Big Show, The Rock Fatal 4-Way Elimination WWF World Heavyweight Title The first thing I would eliminate is the random tag team matches that are really just filler on the show and serve no real purpose. One thing that I've learned is that if something is one a PPV it should be special and not some run of the mill match that could be seen on regular programming. The running joke with Wrestlemania 2000 is that WWE really tried to get everyone on the event instead of making the card the best it possibly could be. The other match I would take off the card is the "Catfight" between Terri & The Kat even though there "match" was the only one on one contest on the show. The opening match of the show would be a 14 man tag team Battle Royal winning team will challenge the Tag Team Champions in a month at Backlash to give time for something develop. I tried to pull someone out of the Hardcore Battle Royal to give them a bit more of a spotlight, but all I really did was move the APA from one Battle Royal to another. Other than that there really isn't much to change, because if you eliminate the matches that don't matter and serve no purpose and replace them with matches that actually have some stakes then it improves the quality of the show, because it makes fans less likely to tune out of the event. Wrestlemania 2000: Redo15 Minute Hardcore Battle Royal: won by Hardcore Holly Includes- Hardcore & Crash Holly, Mean Street Posse, Viscera, Tazz, Kaientai, Conquistador Uno & Dos, Headbangers, and Mideon WWF European Championship Match: (c) Mark Henry vs Chris Benoit 14 Team Battle Royal to Crown #1 Contenders: Won By APA WWF Intercontinental Championship Match: 2 out of 3 Falls (c) Kurt Angle vs Chris Jericho The Kat & Terri segment here: Both are out with a T-Shirt gun and shoot shirts for the fans but then Terri gets jealous after a fan doesn't want a shirt from her and wants The Kat instead. Terri attacks The Kat and the fight ensues with Kat getting the better letting her do her thing and make the fans happy. Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match for WWF Tag Team Titles: (c) Hardy Boys vs Dudley Boys vs Edge & Christian Chyna, and Too Cool vs Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, and Perry Saturn Four Corners Elimination Match: WWF Championship Match (c) Triple H w/ Stephanie McMahon vs The Rock w/ Vince McMahon vs Mick Foley w/ Linda McMahon vs The Big Show w/ Shane McMahon Note: Like last time stayed tuned for Part 2 where I explain my decision making and why I would've booked Wrestlemania 2000 the way I chose to work it out. Reminder this year's Wrestlemania is 45 days away and counting.
