Since 2017 the WWE have dialed back to a classic gimmick match to NXT with War Games. Over the years Vince hasn't always been keen on reusing ideas that were staples of World Championship Wrestling even though Dusty Rhodes invented the idea. Interestingly enough since the gimmick match returned Undisputed Era has been involved in every War Games match thus far. Though WWE has put it's own twist on the match with them getting rid of the roof that would go on the top of the cage after every team member has entered the match. Overall if you have never seen a War Games match and love not down drag, drag out, carnage then these are the matches for you. One thing that you would see in the WCW incarnations is that for the most part especially early someone normally bleeds, and that never happens on purpose in the WWE versions. As far as this match I remember Ricochet heading to the top of the cage and performing a double moonsault taking out everyone. These matches are special, because it takes a long drawn out rivalry to call for War Games and for everyone to have common enemies which as I mentioned has always been Undisputed Era. This match like all the others so far has torn down the house and has never not been good. All in all it was an extremely smart move for WWE to revive the War Games concept in NXT.
