It's always fun to take a trip down memory lane to a bygone era from WWE's past. Seeing how many names are currently still active and how many others are retired. One thing that's worth noting is The Miz is competing with Morrison on the pre-show as this early on in their run as a team and only a little more than a year after Miz made his debut. It is hard to believe that Miz has been with WWE for the last 13 years without a major gap at any time with an injury which is a testament to his resilience. One of the major feuds at this time was Edge vs Batista vs Undertaker who had been trading the World Title between each other for the better part of two years and Edge had re-entered the feud back at Summerslam when he interrupted a brutal Hell in a Cell match.
Another talking point from this show was the recently returned Chris Jericho. Jericho had returned shortly after Survivor Series that year following his cryptic computer code vignettes. Jericho tried to "Save Us" in his first attempt at reinventing his character as he had been gone for two years at this point and needed to be something different then he was the last time we saw him. This run would lay the ground work for his heel turn next summer in 2008 which lead to an amazing/legendary rivalry with Shawn Michaels.
