WWF The Main Event Randy Savage Def. (CO) Honky Tonk Man (C) WWF Intercontinental Title Andre The Giant Def. (Pin) Hulk Hogan (C) WWF World Heavyweight Title Rick Martel (C) & Tito Santana (C) Def. (Pin) Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart WWF Tag Team Titles Looking back to the spring of 1987 specifically Wrestlemania III saw the dream match of Andre The Giant vs Hulk Hogan take place. The biggest part of this match was when Hogan finally slammed Andre the Giant changing wrestling. It took almost a year for WWE to let Andre & Hogan meet again, but when they did they shook wrestling to it's core once again. The reason that this special event sticks out is that this event saw the legendary referee switch that saw Earl Hebner switch places with his brother Dave Hebner during the match to fast count Hulk Hogan. It was reveled that Earl Hebner had been paid off by Ted DiBiase to make sure Hulk Hogan would lose. Following the final pin-fall by Andre The Giant he would almost immediately sell the World Title to Ted DiBiase in a shocking post match turn of events. Within a couple of weeks though then WWF President Jack Tunney would officially vacate the World Title from Ted DiBiase saying that the World Title can't be purchased and can only be won in the ring this would set up the legendary tournament that took place at Wrestlemania IV. Somewhere along the way even the smaller events had a purpose and helped build to bigger events as they should, but the real question is why did it change?
