Last week's episode of was again used to build the upcoming match between Cody and his brother Dustin. With Dustin setting himself as the legend & now Cody the established star and wants to start a new era, but at the same time wants to end another. He's right that for the last two decades his generation of wrestlers have been in some cases unfairly compared to the previous generation of talent, but that is how it's always been in pro-wrestling fans make comparisons and dream what it would have been like if the past met the present. If AEW wants to stand a chance though they can't rely on a bygone era to make waves and attempt to recreate the past they need to create their own path in wrestling and attempt to pave a new road.
I figured out the word to describe Chris Jericho's current gimmick is that of an outlaw a person that can do basically anything he wants to do. It was again refreshing to see PAC found his voice and proved exactly why he is still a star with a tremendous potential. Dustin Thomas clearly stole the show in this video it is crazy what he is able to do in the ring. Dustin clearly reflects just how much the wrestling world has changed in recent years. The confrontation between Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega at the independent show was the icing on the cake. The countdown continues and has almost reached it's conclusion!!
We are now twelve episodes in the series and they are still finding a way to make things different single episode. I was completely unprepared for the portion about Dylan aka Sonny Days getting his chance to show exactly what he can do. Hearing Dallas explain how hard Dylan has worked and the fact that he has had a tough road, but will get his chance on May 25 at the MGM.
Another unexpected part of this episode was everything about Anthony Ogogo seeing him training to become a professional wrestler adds another wrinkle to the new company. The WWE has made many attempts to find crossover stars and make it work, some do and others don't will Anthony be one that works I think he needs more time before we can know for sure, but he looks good so far.
It has finally been reveled after all the teasing and the hinting it is now official Dustin Rhodes will be fighting his brother at Double or Nothing on May 25. It is amazing putting things in perspective that Dustin has been in the world of wrestling for the last thirty years and he has had a legendary career. Having this entire episode focused on Dustin puts into perspective how personal this match is & just how much Dustin may have to prove. The one match that we never really truly got in the WWE will happen at the MGM Grand on May 25 will it be one last ride? We will find out on May 25!!!
