In my book at this point Steve Corino is one of the many names on a short list of names that could be considered legends of Ring of Honor. Though he has spent most of his time marching to the bet of his own drum and going on his own road it didn't matter if it was in ECW or ROH or MLW or any other company either way he did it his way. Steve offers that veteran presence in a locker room full of up and comers and other veterans. Here I am talking like Corino is gone, but he isn't. Look time isn't always our friend however to say that Corino didn't have a respectable career then what do you call 21 years in the ring plus time spent as a color commentator and in basically every major US company other than the WCW and WWE. Now looking from the other side Alex Shelley, first of all god Shelley looks so young in this video then again so does Steve Corino. Either way I will say that back in the 1980's and 1990's wrestling fans saw a lot of US based wrestlers become pretty big names in Japan for example: Vader. Steve Willams, Bruiser Brody, Gordy, and a variety of others. In the modern wrestling it seems to be the case that US based Junior heavyweights have made it pretty big in Japan like Shelley. Honestly I could either take or leave this match due to the clash of styles in my book, but this gives fans a glimpse into the early days of Ring of Honor. Enjoy!!
