With the talk the last couple of months being set on the WWE brand split and all the new championship that the company is setting up for the brand split. Now we shift our attention back to a different company as the news broke a few weeks ago at this point that Ring of Honor will be debuting a 6 man tag team title in the near future. The tournament will start in Lowell, MA on September 30 and October 1st with the finals happening on December 2nd at Final Battle.
At this point right now it is expected that the following stables will be a part of the tournament: Bullet Club, The Cabinet (Rhett Titus, Kenny King, and Caprice Coleman), The Addiction (Daniels, Kazarian, and Kamaitachi) will be a part of the tournament. Right now these are the only names in the tournament thus far, but more groups will be expected to be added to the tournament. Also considering the new working agreement between ROH and CMLL with everyone knowing that Lucha Libre wrestling has always spotlighted the 6 man or the trios which makes me think it has to do with the agreement. The idea of 6 man titles returning to center stage in a wrestling company hasn't been talked about since it was that WWE might have brought them in. However, since that didn't happen this would be the first time we saw the 6 man tag titles since the territory days back in the 1980's. I will be 100% interested to see how well the Tag titles go over in the modern days of pro-wrestling after being inactive for so long.
