For the last few weeks I have been trying to figure out the best way to add some new content to this section of the site. With the companies all having a very deep history and a very long list of alumni for the company and this opened the door for a new series very similar to the New Japan series I started last month. Taking a look back in time at ROH in the past I think that there might be few people that fit the description of "Star of the Past" more than Xavier. The reason I think that Xavier fits this description is simply due to how much of a major star he was at the start of the company and how his stock would fall fairly quick.
For those who have never heard of Xavier then let me explain as he was the star who defeated Low-Ki for the Ring of Honor World Title. Soon after winning the title he would join Christopher Daniels in the heel stable known as The Prophecy with mates including Michael Modest. The Prophecy group did help the champion retain his title over the course of his run until he dropped his title to Samoa Joe. For the remainder of his run in ROH he would never reach the status of champion ever again and would normally just become minor member of the roster. At this point in ROH history I don't think that most fans are likely remember the impact that Xavier had on ROH in it's early days especially knowing that he even fought Scoot Andrews at the ROH first event. Around 2004 the second ever World Champion in ROH had left the company to return on sporadic occasions, but never for more than just one time appearances. However, not to forget the past or one of the earliest top heels of company that is still reaching out to the ball of expansion and running away with it.
