According to this report from last week ROH is dealing with some financial issues due to SBS not being willing to invest. Joe Koff met with Sinclair officials to try and get them to expand the budgets for 2015 and 2016, pushing the idea that ROH could be become the #2 company in the world. The pitch failed.
What the picture on the left doesn't display is that because of the lack of financial backing ROH may end up losing certain because they are unable to pay them for exclusive contracts. The people at the top of the list who have been getting interest from various companies are Maria & Mike Bennett. Though from the start of Mike's career people said he didn't fit the ROH model, he has carved out a nice stop for himself in Ring of Honor.
What if ROH Goes Under:
If ROH ends up going under because of lack of funding from Sinclair, then much like when the idea of TNA going was bad, ROH going under would be just as bad. Though ROH isn't on a national level like TNA was they are still one of the bigger and more known wrestling companies in the US. If they went under a lot of talent would become unemployed, but a lot of fans would lose their source for wrestling.
I am not hinting that this report means ROH is going under because in no way does this picture even hint that. Fact is all I am really saying is how bad it would be for wrestling fans and the workers if ROH went under. Also not just them but wrestling as whole would be damaged if ROH went under.
My last point is that SBS bought the company and why they did I have no idea if they had no intention of investing any money in the company to make it better and help ROH grow.
