As everyone is aware at this point for almost two years Ring of Honor has had a working relationship with the largest Japanese wrestling company in the world, New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The two companies have exchanged talent both sides over this time and it has opened the American market to more of the huge Japanese stars, and has allowed ROH talent to become borderline international superstars as well. This has been one of the more profitable and better partnership for both parties that I can remember ever taking place. However, like every partnership this one has had it's ups and downs.
A few weeks ago it was announced that Japanese Wrestling Legend and NJPW Star Jushin "Thunder" Liger would be appearing on August 22nd at the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event live from the Barclays Center. Which left ROH puzzled because of their working agreement with NJPW and the fact that they have a show the same night as the NXT event. This lead to some poor tension between ROH and NJPW, but everything seems to have worked out for the best.
As of this writing the working agreement between NJPW and ROH is said to be continuing into 2016 with the likely possibility of the yearly co-promotion show that normally takes place in the early part of the summer. It is good to see that everything worked out and a great partnership like this one can with stand a small bump in the road and stay on track.
