It seems at this point that the never ending revolving door of talent getting let go or leaving the company. Though it seems this talent is a different set of circumstances, because of the contract status he signed with the company. As of a couple of weeks ago Bully Ray had resigned with TNA to become the new authority figure on TV or so we thought he was going to be.
However, that wasn't the case as of the last set of tapings late last week Bully wasn't at the tapings and many believe he is done with the company. Later we found out that Bully only signed a short term contract with the company and basically it was designed to just be a minor thing. Look I am not going to go off on TNA for doing this as it may have popped the ratings for one week and helped gain viewers for one week, but now what's next. The big speech that Dixie went on a few weeks back means nothing now because her "big" replacement is now gone so hmmm worthless speech.
Apparently Bully walked away from the company due to the fact that he didn't like how the company is backstage at the moment and believes the company is sinking ship. Now you hear it from someone on the inside and actual talent, things are bad in TNA and the only reason we don't know how bad is because I don't about you, but I don't want. Well also cause admitting it makes it real. The future is in question for this company and it took someone saying that how the company is backstage is a reason for him to leave for it to become real.
This is the return of a series I was thinking about doing where I spotlight particular tag teams from the history of pro-wrestling but I figured instead of going back in time to a team of the past how about staying current with one of the top teams in wrestling today. This team I am talking about is the current TNA World Tag Team Champions, Eddie Edwards & Davey Richards (The Wolves aka The American Wolves). The Wolves began teaming back in ROH, they started teaming back in 2008 as a part of Sweet & Sour Inc. managed by the Late Great Larry Sweeney. Eddie and Davey were not just a great team, but great opponents as well, stealing the show anytime they were in the ring against one another. In 2014 The Wolves would end up making the jump over to TNA Wrestling and it wasn't long before they became the top team in the company. While a part of TNA The Wolves have fought the likes of Team 3D, Hardy's, Dirty Heels, Bro Mans, & others. The Wolves future is bright in wrestling as they have won Tag Team titles everywhere they have gone check out a list below:
2CW Tag Team Champions
Four time TNA Tag Team Champions
Two Time ROH Tag Team Champions
2009 Tag Team of the Year from Wrestling Observer
Each held the ROH World Championship
It seems like the never ending record that just keeps playing as since last year TNA's roster has been shrinking and shrinking little by little. After losing AJ Styles, Sting, Hulk Hogan, The Addiction, and others last year this year has been just as unkind to the company who's future could be soon in doubt. Another top star and big fish signing has walked away from the company as of a few days ago MVP seems to be finished with TNA. Which adds another main event talent that has walked away from the company.
It seems as though as a result of the Hernandez/TNA/Lucha conflict the company may have lost another big part of their roster. MVP signed with TNA last February as a new Authority figure for the company and was suppose to remain with the company until February of next year. However, after highly pushing TNA to sign Hernandez it seems MVP might be looked at as somewhat of a scapegoat by the company for the conflict that arose with Hernandez and the company. Late last year he actually challenged Eric Young for the TNA World Title, but came up short. Recently his stable the BDC (Beat down Clan) had been feuding with The Rising until a few weeks ago when they had a loser must disband match. It was a few weeks before this match that Hernandez actually returned to the company, but now TNA must scrap all the footage with BDC they have taped due Hernandez & now MVP leaving the company.
Look I know there will be people out there who jump all over this as just a negative post about TNA and that I can't wait for TNA to go out of business. Which couldn't be further from the truth as I want to see TNA succeed, but they seem to be headed in the wrong direction. Losing TNA would hurt the wrestling business overall and it would be a bad time for the business to lose a company with both GFW & HOH in limbo TV wise right now based on fan knowledge. Which means just NJPW, WWE, and ROH would have a ton more pressure due to the lack of other companies for fans to watch. I don't want TNA to go out of business, but they are making it very hard for someone to not think it could unfortunately be in their future.
For the last few months or even the last few years TNA has seemed to become a revolving door of talent leaving and coming in. Now once again another talent has left the company, but for a different then any other release that TNA has done over the last few years. The talent I speak of is Hernandez, yes your probably thinking that he just came back and is a part of the BDC (Beat Down Clan) well that's all true, but someone neglected to Hernandez was legally under contract when he returned to TNA. Therefore, TNA was forced by Lucha Underground to release Hernandez due to him still being under contract with the El Rey Network company.
Anyone who may not remember I want to say about three weeks ago Impact, possibly Impact Live which was also the show that Jeff Jarrett returned and Vader returned. The significance of this show is meant to display the short amount of time that Hernandez was with TNA. See the story goes that Hernandez told TNA that he was free clear and had no obligations to Lucha anymore, but he lied because he did. TNA offered to pay Lucha for Hernandez to appear on Impact, but Lucha Underground said no and now Hernandez is still under contract with Lucha Underground and probably wont be brought back. However, I do think there is a chance he might have either burnt the bridge because of the circumstance that arose after he signed or he will be back with TNA later in the year.
I tried to figure how to spin into something that doesn't come off as me posting another negative TNA post as that is not my job to just post the bad news. However, that is very hard sometimes but I do think I have been able to turn this into a positive. Well think about it they have had the same VP of the company the last 13 sometimes that works and other times it doesn't.
This I believe could be a great thing for TNA wrestling as it could allow for a new face to help move the company from the rough period they are currently in out of it. After a certain amount of time it is good for upper management to either change or for those around them to change to allow fresh ideas to enter the bubble. In many cases not changing or allowing for new ideas ends up hurting the company and more often then not pushing the company into a rough patch. This is why I believe though many think the VP departing from the company is bad thing I think the opposite and think it is actually a good thing and could help TNA.
This may just be positive thinking or it could actually be the truth and something may finally work out good for TNA. Which is what I am hoping and I know that I am not alone in this in subject. Please believe that I firmly think the VP leaving the company could be good a thing, but right now it is to soon to tell and more time has to go by. Not much is known why the VP chose to walk away, but I do think having some fresh ideas around TNA may not be a bad thing in the long run.
For this last month I have had this section of the site banned for reasons of my own digression as earlier last month I made the decision to suspend TNA Wrestling from this site due to an angle featured on Impact Wrestling at the beginning of the month featuring two of TNA's contracted employees. I refuse to acknowledge the segment in detail as I feel it is ridiculous enough to be not worth my time.
For those who may still not understand my reasons for suspending TNA then fact is you never will. However, I will say that it was my decision and in my opinion the right thing to do and that's all I will say about that. Fact is as of right now this section is back and ready to once again provide a unique glimpse into the "fire" that is TNA wrestling.
Now why should you care? Well I guess there really is no reason for you to care that TNA is back on this site other than now when I say "All your Wrestling Needs in One Place" I can actually mean it more then I did before. TNA gives me another company to write about and expand the spectrum of the site a little bit more. The last thing I will say is from this point forward I will be a little more open and honest about my opinion on TNA wrestling, so just keep that in mind.
A video will be going up on the internet in the very near future further explaining certain things and also it is the sole reason why I have chosen to bring TNA back to the site at this point.
