I haven't forgotten about this series or thought about discontinuing the series as I have enjoyed the opportunity to revisit some news stories from the past week. I'll admit that this series specifically has been placed on the back burner. There is no telling that if I balanced time a little bit better I could handle back on this series on track again. I need to research for this series and have chosen to focus my attention elsewhere instead of attempting to do the research needed for the series.
I will call myself lazy, uninspired, and disinterested.. it took me five months to finish inducting this years class into the Hall of Fame, I haven't touched this series in three weeks, I have willingly decided not to post articles even if I had the time to do so. I'm not giving up on this site or writing in general I'm just not the same type of wrestling fan I was a year ago and I just need to now figure out how wrestling fits in again. At one point, wrestling was all I cared about it was it and I thought it was what made me who I am. It is aspect of my personality, but not who I am I'm not basic and confided to just being that wrestling fan.
I needed to figure out who I was outside of wrestling and that's why the best way to put is I took a break and slide back for a little while from the profession that I've loved for 22 years. I will never leave wrestling behind it will always be that piece of me for a variety of reasons we've been attached at the hip for 22 years it ain't gonna go away nor do I want it to go away. I just need to find a balance and I've always struggled with finding a balance with pretty much anything that I do on a daily basis or in general. However, now that I've identified an issue it is the first legitimate step in figuring out a way to fix the problem or control it and that is something I really need to handle. I didn't expect to write this much or write about this, but I chose to be honest with whomever is reading this like I have been in past instead of hiding from it like I use to chose to do.
Another week has moved on and we now look forward to the start of a new month and a new week.
Earlier this week it was announced that Randy Orton will be the challenger for WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at Summerslam. Drew defeated Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania and since then has had to prove himself as a worthy champion. Last year Kofi had to go through the same prove yourself period including a feud with Randy Orton. At this point Summerslam is set for August 23 and will likely put into motion the plans the WWE have for the reminder of 2020 or at least it should.
On this past edition of Dynamite we saw the AEW debut of a former WWE star now known as Matt Cardona formerly Zack Ryder. At one point it was rumored that Zack would be making the move to Impact Wrestling, but various other names decided to head north to Impact and Zack instead headed south. In the past decade Ryder has seen any chance he might've had to become a reliable star in WWE dry up in favor of him remaining an enhancement talent instead.
It is clear from his arrival on Dynamite that Matt will be watching the back of his friend the fighting champion Cody. However, to avoid Matt being stuck in Cody's shadow he needs to establish and identity for himself relatively quickly as just another friend of Cody's. I think they should either establish the friendship and then pull Matt away from Cody or leave it alone for now to establish Matt on his own first. They have options they just can't take to long to make the choice.
