Last week I kicked off a series looking back at some of the biggest news of the past week that I might've either missed or that deserve more attention. As I mentioned last week to I will attempting to give new promotions the spotlight to mix things up.
It was announced earlier in the week that Jon Moxley will be challenging Chris Jericho for the AEW World Title at Revolution in February. Though this has been a match most of have been expecting to see it is now official and we can look forward to the first big match of 2020 for AEW. Considering the day I am posting this it would be hard not to mention that tonight is the Royal Rumble event and the official start of the Road to Wrestlemania. I will be posting predictions for the event later tonight so I won't talk much about it other than saying the Royal Rumble is always my favorite event of the year, because of the Royal Rumble match. Who will win? Who will show up? As Billy Corgan continues to grow the NWA brand he made a step in the right direction starting to work with Ring of Honor once again. The two companies were working together two years ago in the build up to All In. I'm not really sure if the agreement ever ended, but after All Elite Wrestling was formed the agreement did go on the back burner to allow ROH to focus on fixing their roster to replace all the talent they lost. Now with ROH in a better place then they were in 12 months ago they have returned to the old agreement. Considering tension has been building between Villain Enterprises and NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis it is clear that things seem to have just begun with this agreement, and should help both companies continue to build positive momentum.
