Remember the Rumble: 1992 Royal Rumble Match

The slogan for this year's Royal Rumble PPV has been "Remember the Rumble" which is suppose to play into the fact that this is the 30th annual Rumble event. This slogan allows us to give the spotlight to the past Royal Rumble events on the Road to the Alamodome in ten days for the PPV. On the 29 of January the next Rumble will be held and history will be made once again as the Main Event of Wrestlemania will be decided. 

I wasn't going to do anything to hype up the event like I will likely do for Wrestlemania or like I did for Summerslam last year. But then I looked and I saw that in my opinion the greatest Royal Rumble event history took place today 24 years ago today. That event was the 1992 Royal Rumble and one of the many reasons that this event is so historically important is because it was the first Royal Rumble held for the WWE Title and before last year it was the only Rumble match where the title was on the line.
