For years I have said that the WWE has wasted the vast library they have in the company as they never used the talent or the video footage that they have acquired. However, since the start of the Network they have done a lot more with the footage, but still I think they could do more with DVD's and Video games using their library and they are doing exactly that this year with Goldberg being a central point this year.
Last week during Raw the WWE gave us what many called a disappointing announcement when we found out that the yearly special game character for this installment of the WWE gaming series will be Bill Goldberg. That name may not resonate with a lot of WWE, but almost every WCW will know that name and be extremely excited to see 2K has planned for this years game with Goldberg. Ask for the WWE end of things Bill hasn't been seen in the WWE since his stinker of a WrestleMania match back in 2004 with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20.
Now does this mean that Goldberg will be following in the footsteps of names like Ultimate Warrior and head back to the WWE well at this point it doesn't seem like that no, but then again "Anything can happen in the WWE." This seems to the case because of how Bill left back in 2004 and Vince still holding a grudge against Bill for it. I'm not saying that much would done now as I do only believe as far as in-ring competition I think he'd only come back for Mania, but once again who knows in the WWE.
After last years focus around Steve Austin and the solid career mode I am very excited to see what they do this year with Bill Goldberg. As I have been saying for years how I don't think the company is taking advantage of their library enough and as I do believe things like WCW, ECW, and other old school companies still have an untapped market ripe for the picking.
