A few weeks ago, it was reported that WWE has signed another top independent star to a contract with the company and that he would be joining the company in a couple of weeks. The top Indy star is now former ROH talent Jimmy Jacobs, I am aware that a lot of WWE fans may not know who Jimmy is, so that's I am going to do in this post right now.
If I could compare Jimmy to someone on the current WWE roster, I would say the closest comparison would be to Bray Wyatt. However, if you tell me to give a comparison for Jimmy to a WWE legend I would probably say Jake "The Snake" Roberts. I guess one could see from my comparisons that Jimmy is like a darker, gothic, "evil" character much like a Bray Wyatt. Jimmy is coming to the WWE with a vast amount of experience and a past the includes working with current stars like Luke Harper, WWE World Champion Seth Rollins, WWE Intercontinental Champion: Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami, & NXT World Champion Kevin Owens.
Though Jimmy would be a big help to the WWE’s talent roster, he isn't coming to the WWE as a wrestler. The former 5 time ROH Tag Team Champion is coming to the WWE as a part of the Main Roster creative roster. Now many thought that to start Jimmy would be "groomed" in NXT for a spot on the Main Roster, but those people were shocked to find out that Jimmy would start on the Main roster's creative team. I will mention that I am unaware of any of Jimmy's past booking ability or creative writing, because getting knowledge who books which Indy companies isn't very easy. So for once an independent wrestling fan boy cannot sing the praise of a former Indy star and will be just like everyone else as we wait to see what Jimmy can do.
I will just add that I know some people probably hate the idea that Jimmy is going to WWE, and isn't even going to wrestle. Well I have this before and will continue to say until I feel like the point has gotten across and my point is that being on the Independents isn't everyone's dream; often enough if you get into the wrestling business the WWE is your ultimate goal not staying on the Indies. I have nothing against Indies, but my point if you're a fan of the wrestler you should be a real fan and be happy for him that he is getting the opportunity to live his dream. I feel the need to add that even though it’s not everyone’s dream to make it to the WWE most talent dream of being able to work for the WWE.
