For the last few weeks we have seen a back and forth going on between Seth Rollins and the host of the Daily Show Jon Stewart. This is different then most of the other celebrity appearances as Jon Stewart is actually a life long wrestling was evident when he showed on Raw this past Monday night.
Background of the Feud:
Now for those who may not know the background of the feud let me take a second and explain how this feud started and where I think this feud is going in the future. First let just explain for those who may not know who Jon Stewart is or why he is famous. Well the reason why Stewart is famous is because he has been the host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central. The Daily Show is a "Fake News show" on for a half hour everyday on Comedy Central and Stewart has hosted the since 1999. Earlier this year Jon Stewart announced he'd be retiring from the Daily Show after almost 20 years on the show. That lead to these comments made by Seth Rollins on an episode of Raw a few weeks back. (The first video)
Long story short after video responses, Seth Rollins took advantage of being on the east coast which is where Stewart tapes the Daily Show by crashing the Show. Seth proceeded to show up on stage live on the show and challenge Stewart to show up on Monday Night Raw this past Monday. This lead to questions and some intrigue with some fans wondering if Jon Stewart would show up on Monday Night Raw or not. Well they got their answer two nights ago when Stewart showed up to have a back n forth with Rollins live on Raw, and Jon Stewart showed why he has had the Daily Show for as long as he has and proved to be a natural in the WWE ring.
Usually when WWE has a special guest I am one of those people who absolutely hates it and thinks it's a waste of time. However, I am not sure that WWE always brings in celebrities who are life long fans like Jon Stewart is. In my honest opinion I loved the segment and thought it was if not the highlight then it was one of the top moments on Raw this week. Which is saying a lot if you base it upon how bad the segments are usually with Celebrities. But I believe Jon raised the bar and it wasn't just Jon it was also Seth showing how good he has become on the microphone and how easy it for him to draw heat. I am not sure where this "feud" is going, but I think I could see Jon Stewart in Randy Orton's corner at WrestleMania when Randy faces Rollins; then again that could just me.
