Even though Vince has said in the past that he doesn't view the UFC as competition most people don't agree with his mindset, but nobody makes a big deal about it. That was until the UFC's most recent PPV which was UFC 193 live from the land down under aka Australia. This absolutely means that the WWE is apparently looking to possibly run a PPV in Australia.
With this rumor popping up it has also brought to light the apparent appeal from management to run a big event in Melbourne. Now you might wondering well I thought that the WWE would never run a PPV on another continent again due to the delay. Anyone who told you that is wrong, because it isn't that WWE will never hold a PPV on another continent I believe that is only the case for WrestleMania. It is also possible that they could air a live Network special similar to the "Beast from the East" special they aired from Japan over the summer. I will say them airing either a live special or a PPV in the land down under would just further push the WWE's presence as a global brand.
If the WWE did chose to run a PPV in Australia they would likely run the show Monday at noon Australian time which would still allow them to air the show live at 8pm in the US with no tape delay. I could see some not agreeing with the idea, but less buys equals less money for the company so if they could prevent it from happening they should.
