It was reported earlier this week that their is talk of Smackdown possibly moving from the SYFY Network over to the USA Network in 2016. If Smackdown moves to the USA Network then it would be official that for the first time in WWE history all of their TV programs would be on the same network. The move is set to take place in early 2016 at this point and would see both Smackdown and RAW on USA as late as probably WrestleMania next year.
As of this writing it seems as though the reason behind the move plays into the USA Network wanting to keep the strong ratings coming for the network and they believe adding another WWE show would do nothing, but help them. Also not to get to technical, but I believe it could have to do with USA wanting help to corner the 18-34 year old demographic and they feel that adding another WWE show would only their case.
I almost forgot the most important aspect of it and that is that 2015 isn't that old and we still have a lot of time before this move is even talked about on WWE programming. So keep in mind that things can change and also more information will likely come out about the move as we draw closer to it, but for right now we just have to take the wait and see approach. I for one am not a fan of it, but I guess holding on to the idea that both shows will one day have their own identity is a lost cause at this point.
