Thus far I have expressed my opinion on GFW and TNA but things are just getting started as I will be covering all the bases when it comes to talking about other companies too. As a way to show that I am in fact not just a WWE fan boy this is when I will be expressing my thoughts in a two part post on the WWE.
The fact is that by far out of all the companies I think WWE has the most people who are so consumed with knowing what will happen before it does that they forget what it is like to be fans and not "insiders." This is the reason why WWE is unlike any other the company in the US because no other company has it where their fans are so wrapped in being "insiders" and not focused on the TV programing. Sadly this distorts the opinions of many fans who are able to accept the fact that they aren't on the creative team even if in their delusional minds they could do a better job. Don't get me wrong the influence of the marks aren't the only thing wrong with the WWE there is a lot wrong with the company I don't have enough time to write it all down.
Lack of Roster Depth: for years the company always had the deepest roster in the wrestling world, but then everything changed when their roster got older and nobody was their to refill the roster. So when RVD, Benjamin, Carlito, Morrison, Hardy's, and others left their was nobody around to replace them and though at first the effect weren't felt they are most certainly having a terrible effect now. If the WWE was going to do anything the WCW did then having an extremely large roster is something they should copy. There is no reason why both Raw and Smackdown should feature or start with the same talent on a weekly basis as the WWE has enough talent to fill both shows. In what realm is this actually a true statement and not just the delusional ramblings of a cool aid drinking employee. With 8 hours of TV to book on a weekly basis they need fresh faces on each set of programs or at least on the two shows actually still on TV. An old-school mentality of booking job guys or using the idea they have in NXT of allowing guys to start as job guys and work their way up is a great idea to improve depth.
Not so Creative: How long have the fans been complaining about the WWE creative team? Well for far to long in my opinion. The WWE creative team is probably one of if not the most heavily criticized teams of people in the world television writing. I do believe that most of the negative reception to them is accurate and well deserved, but think about how you would feel if the roles were reversed and your job was to come up with weekly TV for a demanding boss like Vince and fans like the WWE's. Very likely you'd go crazy, but also think about this what if I told you that you had an out clause after 6 months were you could go on vacation for 6 months then come back would you take advantage of it. Back in the days of Smackdown and Raw the WWE had two separate teams for each show which I think kept both teams fresher and each member more relaxed. For the WWE's sake limiting the amount of time that the team works or specific members work even is the best way to protect against burn out and also protect the brand names of the show. Just imagine if every 6 months WWE gave the writing staff a vacation and brought in a new team for 6 months. Would the show be better with fresh ideas and a relaxed team coming up with the idea rather then an overused team like they have right now.
Now you know why this had to be more then one part!!
