Over the last few days on social media a variety of wrestlers and fans alike have commented on the events that took place at Triplemania over the weekend. It has been said that at this past weekend's event AAA wrestler Sexy Star went into business for herself at the expense of her opponents. During she would split one of her opponents open and would then injury GFW star Rosemary after refusing to break an arm-breaker. Following the in-ring incident Vampiro would step up and require Star apologize to all the women she was in the ring with. This however, didn't stop a number of wrestlers from coming calling out Sexy Star for her unprofessional actions.
Now I will include some tweets from wrestlers but most of this will be my opinion on this situation. It's like Allie said that when you get in the ring you expect to be taken care of by your opponent and not have to worry about them hurting you. We doing know why Star decided to shoot on them but what I do know that someone needs to discipline her and make sure she knows that she is never to do it again no matter her reasoning. Nobody is bigger then the promotion they work for no matter the name and that wrestling will always continue no matter who is on top. Star has no right be in a locker room for a very long time because after this incident how could anyone trust her after this.

In the last few years the landscape of the wrestling world has changed with a variety of stars moving from one company to another. Recently, we have been seeing a lot more people walk away from WWE and move to greener pastures elsewhere then ever before. The up tick in roster turnover has not only effected the WWE but also had been a heavy influence over TNA. Looking back at the roster last year for both TNA & WWE both their rosters have changed in a drastic way.
A few months ago reports had been appearing that Rey Mysterio Jr could not only be on the radar of Global Force Wrestling, but that they might have offered him a contract to join the company. Even though some might say that Rey's best years are behind him and that GFW could be more productive with their money. I think if Global Force and Rey could come to an agreement it would extremely beneficial for both sides. Since he left the WWE I feel as though we have seen almost the rebirth of a legend. It seemed at one point during his WWE run that he lost his passion for the wrestling business and needed something to bring it back. Now we are unsure what did happen as far as how his contract talk fell apart. However, had Rey ended up signing with GFW he absolutely would've been an asset to the company and had given them another person with someone name recognition to help rebuild the company. I have always finding new talent and developing them from the ground is the way to go for the formerly known Impact Wrestling. This company has done that a lot of the years with names like Abyss, Zema Ion, Robbie E, Jessie, AJ Styles, and variety of others. But another way to find new talent is by giving a wrestler a complete make over and they did this to perfection with Ethan Carter III. However, the last year has been anything but kind to the newly created GFW and they need ways to start fresh.
One talent that could use a makeover and I would love to see given a chance on a national level is Michael Elgin. Michael was at one point a talent on the rise in ROH and even captured the World title. But in the end it was that run with the title that really spelled the end of his time in ROH due to the company trying to sign him exclusive due to them having a problem with how he was booked elsewhere. In turn I guess you could say Elgin chose PWG and independence over a paycheck with ROH. Since then Elgin has been thrilling crowds working for both PWG and has seen his stock rise big in New Japan over the last few years. At this point it seems a return to ROH is out of the question, but how about a debut in a company that is searching for some new faces. I don't know about you, but I would love to see Michael Elgin vs Lashley in a GFW ring that has a nice ring to it. A few months ago a former X-Division champion worked a match in the small Mexican wrestling promotion known as CRASH back in April and suffered a scary injury. For years in TNA we have seen numerous unknown stars come through the company to give new bodies to the X-Division as a way to rebuild the division the terrible booking that killed the division. One of those names that really stuck out from the pack and became sort of the leader of the division his name is DJ Z.
I will admit the last time I saw DJ he competed against I believe Andrew Everett and the match was very weak due to a clear lack of chemistry between the two. But it was also a clear indication of how much things have changed in the X-division over the years. Now for the injury, back in April DJ went for a 450 splash off the top rope and something went wrong. Some how DJ would fracture his colon and suffered internal bleeding from the splash. At one point there was talk that Z may never be able to get back in the ring again due to the severity of the injury he sustained. But now according to recent reports it seems as though DJ Z could be returning to wrestling again very soon which is amazing to hear. I have been a very big fan of DJ since his days on the Indies and am very happy that he could be coming back soon to the ring. |
