There have always been stories of current talent taking it upon themselves to write out there own storylines as a way to get themselves on television. Though this idea may not be as present now as it was back in the day in particular during the attitude era. One name that comes to mind that would actually write his own storylines was the man once known as The Jackal and took over for Josh Barnett as commentator for New Japan. For those that don't know the references so far that I am speaking of the newest high level executive in Impact Wrestling Don Callis. During his stay in WWE, he would actually take it upon himself to write out story's for himself and the faction he was brought into manage which included Kurrgan. In recent years we have found that Don Callis has a mind for the wrestling business and was one of those that never had been given a chance. However, at this point in recent months the company hit a rough patch following the departure of Jeff Jarrett. Don Callis would be named an executive producer of Impact Wrestling with Scott D'Amore allowing them to only have to answer to Ed Nordholm and have control of the show. Much like Triple H assuming control of 205 Live and actually getting a chance to run something on the main roster this will be both Don & Scott's first chance to run things on a large scale. Thus far Impact Wrestling giving Don a chance based on Chris Jericho's opinion seems to be paying off the company as they seem to be getting better and have a clear focus now.
