It was a few months ago when TNA had then champion Matt Hardy was forced to vacate the World Championship following EC3 and his claims that the title was unfairly taken from him. Though many people believed that having Matt vacate the title a few days after winning it and then announced that he was vacating the title on YouTube. Since then TNA has been running a G1 Climax esque tournament or an expanded version of their old Bound For Glory Series.
I will admit that at first I thought that a tournament of that size would never work and how they had Hardy vacate the title was badly done and was a mistake to do. But after a few months I will say that my opinion of the World Title series has changed and I think it has been very well done especially when it come to including talents that most wouldn't expect in a World title tournament. Even though this is a simple way to have a long term direction for TV and the company as a whole it works, because it gives the matches on TV a lot more meaning and intrigue. Looking at the companies ratings may make others believe that the tournament isn't helping, but ratings don't always come forward even with meaningful and every so often a great match that sticks out. I believe the reason for that has to do with TNA once again leaving their TV home for somewhere new in January and the lack of willingness from fans to give the company another chance.
