It has hit the final countdown for Slammiversary and Impact is pulling out all the stops ahead of the biggest event of the year. After 373 days it seems like Impact has ran out of ideas of teams to challenge The North at this point which is special in itself, because it is a rare occasion in modern wrestling for champions to hold any championship for over a year. The North has established themselves as one of the top tag teams in the world and due to them being in Impact Wrestling and flying under the radar.
Shamrock and Callahan had a heated rivalry and even though it's possible that things aren't over between the former rivals they're trying to shift the focus to unite against a common enemy. The main difference between when WWE does this is that they do it as a lazy booking tool to add something to an upcoming match. However, it seems like Impact will either keep the belts on The North or if Shamrock/Callahan win the gold they will get a sizable reign with the gold to maximize the effect of Shamrock and Callahan finally being the tandem to defeat the unbeatable North.
