TNA Moving Back Home7/13/2016 From the fall of 2005 to the end of 2013 this company had a home on Spike TV and was among the higher rated shows on the network. But then everything changed once Spike wanted to go a different direction with the TV station and didn't want pro-wrestling anymore. For the most part though during their tenure on Spike TNA was always on Thursday nights for two hours. Yes they did spend some time on Saturday and Monday, but in terms of length of stay most fans remember TNA being on Thursday nights. Since then a lot has changed including TNA being on basically every other night of the week excluding Friday, Sunday, and Monday.
Now some within industry predicted the move and others just thought it was possible, because of Smackdown not just going live but also moving to Tuesday nights. This would've meant pretty stiff competition for TNA Impact on Tuesday's so after about a week an announcement was made that TNA would indeed be moving from Tuesday back home. After almost 2 years on other nights TNA returns home to Thursday nights they will remain on POP TV and will just be switching nights. This switch will be happening next week as TNA will be moving to Thursday nights on July 21st and will remain 8/7c every week. Also to go along with the big move they have announced that the Bound For Glory Playoff will begin this Thursday night. Though not much is known about this unique "tournament" to crown the #1 Contender for Bound For Glory I will say that I have always loved these types of things and I think TNA made a mistake by doing away with the BFG Series as that helped promote and build the World Title match for Bound For Glory in my book. In the big picture I think moving was the right decision and not just because this means another day for wrestling during the week. It is just because I don't know for sure that TNA would've been safe both ratings and viewer wise staying on Tuesday and it may have hurt the company more in the long run.
