Brand Split Update 27/8/2016 At this point it is likely common knowledge among most wrestling fans that the WWE has changed the name of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back to the WWE Championship. This is pretty much confirming my worry that a second World title will be returning to the company following the return of the brand split in two weeks on July 19th. Let me explain a little about why I hate the idea of two World titles, because if we are to believe that both titles are suppose to be the top prize for each brand that fine, but then both titles should be booked as World titles and not have one be looked at as the obvious B-Level title. As then it could negatively effect the other titles and bump down the work that WWE has done to help each title they have mean more.
As far as the other titles the WWE have active right now the United States and Intercontinental will each go on one brand and become exclusive, but the Tag Team and Women's will likely be on both brands. I will make two points about the Women's title the first is if they didn't just retire the Divas title at WrestleMania a case could be made to bring the title back. However, that is exactly what happened and bringing the belt back after such a short time on the shelf wouldn't do anyone any good. The other point is that back around the time of the first brand split the Undisputed Champion was on both brands and who ever won the title would lose there spot on a brand and the former champion would take it. For example if someone from Raw were to beat the Women's champion then the former champion would go to Raw and the new champion would be on both brands. Since I am here and this will likely be our last update prior to July 19th I figured giving the last bit of draft news would be a good idea. For this news though you have to look back a few weeks because this has to do with NXT and the number of developmental stars that will be getting the call-up. Originally the number was 6-8 names would be getting called up to the Main roster for the draft, but now the number has jumped to 10-12 names will be getting the call to the big show. This is awesome as some names that you never thought you'd see in the WWE will be making their way to Raw or Smackdown following July 19th. Looking at this another way though this will likely leave a huge whole down on the NXT roster for not just big names but names in general, remember NXT is still the WWE Developmental.
