PPV Predictions: WWE Battleground 20177/23/2017 Battleground 2017:
Pre-Show: Aiden English vs Tye Dillenger Flag Match: John Cena vs Rusev 2017 has been a very interesting year for both Cena and Rusev as they have been unlike any other year before it both names. Early in the year John was tied with The Miz until Mania then he went on hiatus till he reappeared to begin his feud with Rusev. On the other side of things Rusev has had a terrible year comparing this to the other years he's had since his main roster debut. Now with all the talk of a possible retirement around the corner for Cena I do think this match could go either way. Logically Rusev should win to try and establish him as a top star with the company and see where it goes, but also Cena could take the loss. WWE doesn't always use logic so I do think that Cena ends with the win. WWE Tag Team Title Match: (c) The Uso's vs New Day This has been a very interesting feud worth keeping an eye on and just shows how things have changed in recent years as the last time they fought the roles were reversed. I loved the match they had back at Backlash last month and the finish was perfect to set up the rematch this month, but now it's hard to predict what happens next. Giving us the Rap Battle like they did a few weeks ago on Smackdown it gave this feud a very different feel. Now I have enjoyed this feud and the run for The Uso's, but I think it might be time for a switch. So this might mean that "It's Time For Some New Day!!" Baron Corbin vs Shinsuke Nakamura I have enjoyed Baron's run since the brand split because I feel like it's a throwback push to the old days of slow booking. Now Nakamura is a special case because I think most people expected more from him once he debuted on the main roster, but they are bringing him up slow. I prefer slow booking that takes place over a longer period overly quick booking like that is typical for WWE. I know that if Nakamura loses to Corbin then fans on the internet will complain about one loss even though Corbin is "Mr. Money in the Bank." With that being said I think that Baron gets the win to give him a big win as "Mr. Money in the Bank." #1 Contender Women's Championship Match: Tamina vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte vs Lana vs Natalya The last time the Smackdown Women's division had a multi-women's match they rushed through the match and made it look weak which ruined Naomi's title win in my opinion. I think this could be a good match, but the bar isn't set very high based on the WrestleMania match. I don't have much to say about this match, because I am just hoping they don't try and rush through the match like last time. Honestly, I would like to see Natalya win the match to mix things up in the title picture I don't think she will but she is still my pick. WWE United States Title Match: (c) AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens We they fought at Backlash I was wondering how they would get out of the match without one of them looking weak and they did it. Now with roles reversed I would like to see Kevin not get the title back because at this point he would already become a three time US champion and I would like a little break from him holding the title. Seeing AJ hold the belt is a breath of fresh air and I would like to see it continue. Punjabi Prison Match for the WWE Championship: (c) Jinder Mahal w/ Singh Brothers vs Randy Orton Even though this feud hasn't done well for business have really enjoyed seeing Jinder hold the WWE title as it was extremely unexpected. I do think they could have had Randy split his title shots up and given Jinder a longer run, but they instead squeezed in all the shots now. In the history of this match the heel has never won and that doesn't look good for Jinder and his run. But looking at both sides I would prefer seeing Jinder hold on to the title over seeing Randy get the title back.
