Ryback Contract Update7/9/2016 So far 2016 has been pretty much unlike any year we have seen in quite a long time, because it has been quite a long time since the WWE had done roster maintenance and the spring cleaning. So far we have seen a variety of names walk away from the company or have gotten let go this year. In some cases I was surprised by names like Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow being included in "spring cleaning."
Even in pro-wrestling someone can only take so much negativity and lack of opportunity before they finally give up and ask to be released from their contract. With that out of the way now it is time to speak about the next talent to walk away from the WWE. Over the course of the last 6 months there has been seemingly a ton of problems between the WWE and Ryback. At one time many people believed that Ryan Reeves would be the next top star in the WWE and a future World Champion in the company. However, due to the unfortunate circumstances Ryback never reached his potential in the WWE and the lackluster Intercontinental title reign from last year was hurt due to his injury and his booking lacking to where they never had plans for him in the long term. In his later work you could really see that Ryback had talent and untapped potential, but all he really needed was the right opponent like Cesaro, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes or stick him with a veteran. The reason why you could stick him with a veteran well think about if you give a brawler like Ryback and you stick him with a guy like Goldust that would only help him know how to work through a match. As of this writing it is pretty clear to say that I don't think Ryback will ever be reappearing on a WWE program as I do believe his contract is expiring very soon and will not be getting it renewed or re-signing with the company after a very long stay with the company. If booked right I do think Ryback has some untapped potential like a few other names that left the company in recent years as well. Right now the only real thing we can do is sit here and wait to see what is going to happen, but I will say that Ryback will not be back in the WWE.
