Over the years the concept of a championship has gone through a period of "dark times." However, it has slowly started to comeback and maybe not where it once was but most championships have been rebuilt at this point. Looking at the shape of the Intercontinental & Tag titles now and where they were a few years ago those titles are so much better off now. Unfortunately the I don't feel like the World titles are in a better place then they were a few years ago.
Last year, at Summerslam the WWE debuted the Universal title and I will say that they have done a good of building up the title from the ground up, but its still not where it could be. The reason I do say it isn't where it could is that it takes more then a year to build up a title to the point of where it should be looked at as a World Title. This is the reason why people are so dare I say "bitter" about Jinder being World Champion and even though it seems like they are building him up with the title rather than the other way. The reason that doesn't work is that the guy should be on the level of the title or it risks bringing down the title. I have said this multiple times that I think that if the WWE wanted to give the title Jinder they could've spent the summer building him up to the level of where he could be a believable champion. The one thing that people don't realize is that Jinder is the only champion featured on the show weekly with Brock holding the other title but they aren't treating him like a World Champion. The champion should be special and look at as the best the company has to offer and not just another guy like they have booked Jinder. Can his run be saved absolutely and this could also be the start of the WWE having a new star following the time that Jinder doesn't hold the title anymore. The one plus is that the Jinder is helping the Singh Brothers get over and I hope that the Singh's could end up in the Cruiserweight division.
