There is no doubt that in recent years the popularity of and respect for Women's Wrestling has reached an all time high especially in the WWE. From the Women's Revolution a few years ago to the first female main event at Hell in a Cell between Charlotte and Sasha Banks. A lot has changed in women's wrestling over the last few years and in my book all it has been for the better. Now we have more importance on the show and it isn't just placed on men and we aren't subtly being told to not care about the women anymore which is fantastic.
However, when WWE legend Lita brings up the idea of a Women's Tag titles and says that the only thing the WWE would need to do is expand the depth of the division and then it'd work. But for me there is one other thing and that is the idea that a women's tag title is a good concept but always has had a short shelf life in companies including WWE. For the fans that may not be aware the WWE at one point had tag titles for the women back in the 1980's. To those fans I say in the end look at how well the Knockouts Tag Titles worked out in TNA and how they were just asking to be retired at the end when Eric Young held the title. The other argument I would have is look at how the WWE currently books the Tag Team division. I will agree that the booking has improved in recent years but is nowhere near where it could be but it is better than it was. Imagine how poorly the Women's Tag division would be booked with how little faith Vince has in tag teams to be money producers. With that being said and even though it would be really crazy to see a Women's tag title I think at this point it would be cool to start but it would get to the point of okay when will they retire it.
