Hearing the Vice President of Business explain not only how committed Tony Khan is to All Elite, but also the reason for the event as a whole. Overall the fact that AEW is putting together an event dedicated to those who have been affected by gun violence is a testament to how the issue has affected everyone in different ways. As mentioned Tony Khan lived only blocks away from the shooting that took place a the Madden Tournament last year. I don't think that I need to put much emphasis on the importance of Fight For the Fallen, because I don't think that I need to tell you not just from a wrestling standpoint, but a standpoint of being a good person it's a big event the young company. As far as the matches built up in this episode what is there to say about the upcoming match between the Rhodes & Young Bucks. A match that will include four of the best wrestlers in the world today colliding together for the first time ever. It is amazing to see how far the Bucks, and Cody have come in such a short time and Dustin doesn't seem like he ever ages and seems just as savy as he was 10 years ago. I am excited to see this match partially cause you never got to see Cody against the Bucks in New Japan so in turn it's something new. The only question is what else will be setting up for the show in July!!

There is no doubt that there was one focus for this episode of Road to Fyter as it centered around the young tag team Private Party. These kids seem like they know what they are about and have a good head on their shoulders, but it's about sticking out in what will be a crowded division of a new company. The one aspect of AEW that seems to be ignored by people is that the unknown stars have to find there way to become known stars. Right now these guys are added to the list of fresh youngster to keep and eye on as All Elite continues to build their foundation. Though I understand they had a lot to talk about as the event draws closer, but I have to say it is insane to think that at one point over 100,000 people were waiting to buy tickets for All Out in August. In reality this event could've outdrew the last three Wrestlemania's which isn't testament to AEW cause it is still early it's more how ready fans are for something new. I also want to mention that Daniels recounting his history with CIMA adds an interesting layer to their match coming up this weekend as i had no idea they had like a mentor/protege relationship. Now with only four days left before the event we have hit the toughest time as we have to just wait for the second event for All Elite to see if they can continue to build the momentum from their first event. WOW! Of all the hype videos so far this one was the best I have seen from All Elite Wrestling and that is saying something. The amount of raw emotion in this video was on another level from Darby Allen to Joey Janela to Shawn/Gavin Spears so much happened. First I wanted to point out how glad I am that the Joshi women are returning as this raises the importance of the multi-women match from Double or Nothing as it could be looked as an introduction for the women. Seeing the end of this episode I have become even more of a fan of Darby Allen then I was before, because he offered an explanation as to why he looks the way he does. It's videos like this that should make WWE take notice, because this is a modern example of character development and I am very excited for the match on June 29 against Cody. Overall this entire video made everyone involved look like stars with a ton of potential to become future stars in wrestling.
As we move to the second event ever for All Elite Wrestling it's time for another Road to Series from our favorite new wrestling company. Upcoming on June 29, we have a video game convention presented by CEO Gaming. This convention is a celebration of fighting games in the video game world which is something that we all know that Kenny, and the Bucks have a special interest in. Now though there will be wrestling at this video game convention and as Cody said a ton of cross-over opportunity with.... well do I actually to spell it out for you or can do put it together. On June 29, AEW will head to Daytona Beach, FL for their next event which will stream for free on Bleacher Report Live as reported by @tntdrama on Twitter. In case you missed it:
From the Jon Moxley promo making his match with Joey Janela on June 29 official to Cody fighting the unorthodox Darby Allen a very intriguing episode. First off it is that intensity and feeling that had been missing from Mox's promos while he was in the WWE especially in the last year. Seeing him speak in WWE and comparing that to now you can tell how much happier he is then when he was in the big company. I'm not going to blame Vince or creative I just think that it's that Mox wanted more freedom that he was never going to get in WWE, because nobody really gets that type of freedom anymore.
As for Cody, I'm interested to see where things go for his match with Darby because in my opinion, Darby has everything to gain and nothing to lose from this match. In reality it is matches like this that will make AEW not only stick out, but give them the ability to make new nationally known stars. With both Darby & Joey going against two of the most known faces on the Independents it could be and should be the coming out party for two very worthy and deserving competitors. Fyter Fest on June 29 live from Daytona Beach, FL is already shaping up to be a very interesting event. |
