Back to the Territories: Puerto Rico1/6/2020 Even though I know that Kayfabecommentaries.com doesn't sell DVD's anymore that doesn't mean that I can't still recommend the DVD. It is sad that some of favorite series are only available through streaming or digital download instead of DVD's and I know that is a sign of the times it doesn't mean I have to like it. Basically this will not be the last review, but it will be the last review from Kayfabecommentaries for the foreseeable future. This time around we move to the island of Puerto Rico to talk about the legends and mysterious past of the island. Some of the topics Jim Cornette and Savio Vega discuss include: The Popularity of wrestling in Puerto Rico Riots (Fans throwing rocks, screws, piss, diapers, and various other things) Legacy of Carlos Colon, Miguel Perez, Antonio Rocca, Victor Jovica, and others Bruiser Brody Murder Business on the island after Brody's death Thoughts on Victor Quinoes And various other topics!!

2020 Look Forward1/2/2020 With a new year here and 2019 officially in the rear view mirror it is tough to really put into perspective how much things have changed in the last twelve months. In January 2019 there is no way I could've expected heading into Wrestle Kingdom that we would be receiving the announcement of a new wrestling promotion. In twenty years as a wrestling fan I have never really been able to see a promotion get built from the ground up and starting in September 2018 with All In then seeing the Press Conference last January to Double or Nothing in May and now where AEW is now it is insane. I'm very happy for them and all the wrestlers that work there, because it gives wrestling more attention in mainstream media and more the public eye. In all honesty the type of wrestling they often display on the show it isn't really for me, but they have an audience and they are slowly but surely figuring things out. I just hope for 2020 they learn to slow things down a bit during the match to give moves room to breath and have more meaning. For example, let a big move have space to breath and get a reaction before doing another and overshadowing the move you just did. I'm going to keep it simple for the NWA and Impact Wrestling as these two companies are companies I never really thought I'd have enough to talk about. In my lifetime I didn't believe I would ever be able to sit down and watch an episode of modern programming from the NWA, but Billy Corgan proved me wrong. Last year, I gave Impact Wrestling another chance and thus far I have not been too disappointed and have enjoyed the job that Don Callis and Scott D'Amore have done with the promotion. Ask for 2020 just keep building the positive momentum as slow and steady is the best way to go sometimes. This was suppose to be the year or that's what it feels like with all the build we got heading into October and the highly anticipated debut of Smackdown on FOX. With the issues of the overseas show aside it has been an up and down year for WWE. A lot of positives and negatives have made this year a very hard year to call for WWE, but that's expected all I can say is that hopefully they learned some lessons and can not make the same mistakes next year. As far as 2020 is concerned I would like to see WWE take more of an active approach with long term booking and letting fans find ways to get emotionally invested in characters again as a way to allow talent to get over better then they have been in the last few years. Maybe with the new decade WWE can change some philosophies.
