On one of the more recent edition of the Ross Report, Jim had Chris "Abyss" Park on his podcast. One of the more interesting things that was brought up during the podcast had to do with Abyss actually being offered by the WWE. Now I know what you thinking...... that Abyss was offered recently by the company, well that's at least what I would think. That's not the case, it happened back in the day when Abyss's TNA contract was set to expire and WWE had interest.
The time period I am talking about is actually back a few months before WrestleMania 23 in 2007. Abyss stated that his would have debuted at the Royal Rumble and had a feud with The Undertaker leading to WrestleMania 23. However, he chose to remain with TNA as he wanted to be an important part of a company rather just a number. In TNA he is looked as a "founding father" of sorts and in the WWE that wouldn't be the case, let's just point out The Great Khali as a good example of number and not an important member of the roster. Though most people believe that the goal of all wrestlers is to make it to the WWE it is very refreshing to see such loyalty from someone who isn't just in the wrestling business just for the money. Everyone laughs at TNA and think the company is a joke and for a good reason, but if they never came around then in the last 15 years we would've had anything close to an alternative. TNA has been great for the entire wrestling profession and without talent like "The Monster" Abyss the company wouldn't have had the same success it has had over the years.

I have never struggled with a post this much before, I have been writing for almost a decade now and have never done struggled this hard with coming up with direction for a post. Though I have done meaningful posts in the past I have never done a post that was this personal. This post is very personal, because I have decided to elaborate on what I am thankful for this year.
I am of course thankful for things like my family and stuff like that, but their is one thing that I am really extremely thankful for this year. This site is what I am thankful for this site and I am extremely grateful for all of you who have helped this site grow tremendously over the last year. It is difficult to put into words how grateful and thankful I am for all of you and what you have given me. Thank you!! As I write this post I have goosebumps going up and down my arms and am holding back more emotions. I will be forever grateful for all of you, and I do know it's corny, but this site wouldn't exist without you guys reading my posts. The fact that you actually consistently read what I am post on a daily basis and aren't afraid to share your opinion is awesome and I love communicating with all of you. I appreciate you guys and I look forward to spending a lot more time with you guys as we suffer through watching Raw every Monday Night. We have almost hit the one year mark and the one year isn't gonna be anything like this I promise. Leading into his recent House of Hardcore events sat down for an interview he started talking about the Dudley Boys return to the WWE and he would say "It sucks for me because Bubba is my closet friend and I can't have him on the shows, but WWE definitely needed them. You know, for all the shows he worked for me, Bubba never took a paycheck."
So for every time Bubba worked for Tommy he never once was paid and worked for free. For those who don't know Tommy is actually the one who gave Bubba his job in ECW. In no uncertain terms Bubba owns Tommy and I think was his way of giving back to Tommy for what he has done for him over the year. It is great to see that loyalty is still so visible in such a chaotic business. When I first started this site one of the most common posts I used to do was Wrestling in the Media and this is just a dry run where if the view count for the post is good the series could be making a coming back, Well for those who are unaware after he left the WWE, Edge moved into the silver screen with a TV show like Haven. Then in 2012 he landed on the silver screen with the movie Bending the Rules where he stared as bad ass cop Nick Blades. Edge did a really good job in the movie as this was the first time I saw him in any type of movie or TV show. Seeing as how his in-ring career came to a close watching do such a good job on the silver screen is very refreshing. Enjoy the Movie Recently a change in leadership at Destination America has brought questions to the forefront about the future of both TNA and ROH on Destination America. The now former DA General Manager was the person who made the call to have wrestling removed from the channel all together following the "infamous" Dixie Carter accidently emailed him. While some have found out the future of ROH on Destination America the future is still up in the air for the other company.
Right now the company is evaluating all it's programming decisions and though the idea of wrestling getting the boot of the network is definite it is possible. A new person in charge of DA could give a sliver of hope to TNA and maybe even other wrestling companies looking around. There are some within TNA that believe come January they will have to find a new home. Fact is the more companies sway away from pro-wrestling the worse it is for the other companies trying to get on TV. Though this was no fault of DA's it still could make it less likely for another wrestling company to find a home on TV. But this is one of those things we have to wait and see what happens next. After stealing Alberto Del Rio from AAA they seem to be targeting another top star but this time from the other top Mexican promotion known as CMLL. This company has been in business since 1923 and was the WWE of Mexico and seen competition between themselves and AAA.
Sombra had been given a tryout by the WWE back in 2011 and though we haven't really heard anything about it since then. La Sombra has also worked in Japan previously specifically working for New Pro-Japan Wrestling. I think the expansion for the WWE to give International stars a chance to make an impact in NXT and on a National scale is a great chance that didn't exist a long time ago. |
