Match of the Week: Happy Birthday9/23/2016 Trying something a little different for this week's match as I decided to give the match a bit more meaning then I normally do and just as a way to keep things fresh. Because today I will not just have two matches displayed, but also both will be based on two talents who are celebrating their birthdays today. One of the names is considered to be one of if not the greatest luchadore of all time and an Icon in Mexico. That man's name is El Santo, for those who don't know this man he was a founding father of CMLL and in many ways the first Mexican wrestler to really reach out of pro-wrestling and become a star in every facet of the word and just life in general. The legacy that Santo has left behind is that of someone who paved the way for basically the way Mexican wrestling is today and deserved to be honored and remember for being an Icon and someone who helped expand the popularity of pro-wrestling passed the ring. The other name maybe a little broken nowadays, but that's just his way of continue to reinvent himself to stay relevant in the ever changing world of pro-wrestling. That right I guess it's time for some "broken" birthday wishes as today is Matt Hardy's birthday. In all honesty I really thought that once Matt left TNA after his first run that his career in the spotlight was over, but he proved me wrong and though I think his current gimmick is a little too over the top he's making it work and it's doing wonders for his career and TNA.

Ric Flair 30 for 30 Update9/21/2016 After weeks of no real information regarding in my opinion a very highly anticipated documentary we finally got some more information. I feel like I have been talking about a future 30 for 30 on Ric Flair coming around for almost a year or so at this point, but now the director has given us a time period to look forward to. So the documentary is set to be released in the Spring of 2017 as that is right now the tentative release date. In my book that means it could be earlier or later depending on the amount of footage they have and editing that is needed to be done for the documentary.
I feel as though this documentary will be very candid and will allow the modern fans to see how good Flair was and maybe add an extra dimension to the legendary aura of the "Nature Boy." I also know that even though the documentary is only 30 minutes and they could probably do at least 3 parts of the series on just the Horseman. I believe that ESPN will continue to not show why 30 for 30 has always been a critically acclaimed series and that everyone they do is spoken very highly of and gets excessively praised by the viewers. I am very excited for the Spring of 2017 to see just good this documentary is, because even though I know the story of the "Nature Boy" I know that ESPN will tell the story in the best way possible to make even more people know why Ric Flair is one of if not the greatest of all time!!! Woooooooooo

Random Wrestling Video of the Day9/17/2016 Recently we took a trip back in time for a new Let's Play series as we headed back to the territories and specifically we went off to Dallas, TX to find the Von Erich's. Now before I get into the new series I wanted to put on display the World Class athletes that we saw in WCCW and though do know that this might be 2 years later but the point is still the same because history not mentioned is forgotten. Put the eyes on the talent roster and those names that deserves to be remembered but have been forgotten.

Announcer's Make the Show Part 19/14/2016 If I am correct this is the second of a bunch of posts taken from an article written by Mike Mooneyham back in April of 2000 in the lead up to the Re-launch of WCW when Vince Russo and Bischoff took over the booking of the company.
Find a new announce team. The play-by-play and color commentators are just as important to a successful wrestling broadcast as the action that goes on in the ring. While Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden do an adequate job, they lack emotion and personality. Perhaps it's because Schiavone has been behind the microphone for so long that he's lost the desire to call a match. Whatever the reason, Bischoff and Russo need to put people in the broadcast booth who aren't afraid to express their opinions and let their feelings be known. The Announce team can make or break a show: Think back to the best wrestling announcer you have ever heard calling a match can you remember his name? I can probably guess that the name of the announcer is either Jim Ross, Gordon Solie, Lance Russell, Heenan, Styles, Ventura, etc. These people were good at their jobs not because they screamed and cheered when something big happened, but because they knew exactly how to put the talent over and make them seem like they are worth a million bucks or worth nothing depending on if the wrestler was a face or heel. Think about it of these announcers how many times did you hear the background of the talent and the fact that it included in most cases some sort of college sport mostly football. Now think about if you felt any emotions when you found out that you went/are attending: Kent State University like Dolph Ziggler or Florida State University like Ron Simmons or University of Oklahoma like Jack Briscoe the list goes on and on with names of known talent that attended a variety of colleges all over the country. Does having this knowledge help you develop extra attachment or emotional investment in the talent? Now my question is how many of you knew this? Over the years the wrestling announcer has either been a strength or weakness for the wrestling show. Most people go back to how much of a success and a great addition that Jim Ross was for WCW/Jim Crockett Promotions, and how then a lot of people go to how Michael Cole isn’t the best wrestling announcer. Most modern fans don’t know of the past, because a lot of current fans are either causal fans or just too young to know about history.

As of this writing it seems as though the WWE is considering taking a second look at some Tough Enough talent that were both eliminated and didn't make the show. This tells me that they have realized they need some new faces down in NXT especially if NXT will become a touring brand next year like the WWE. Also this may this help reconcile some wrong doings when the show was going on as the fans made some crappy choices of who should be eliminated during the season.
Below are some contestants they should take another look at: - Patrick: By far one of most gifted prospective talents in the competition and should have made it a lot further then he did. Patrick was the "most together" contestant on the show, but also had the biggest ego and though you don't how much of that was him and edited to be shown like that. Patrick definitely deserves a second look from WWE. - Tanner: he reminds of Dolph Ziggler as both wrestlers came into the company as he came to the company with complete knowledge of the in-ring skills. Dolph got signed right out of college and now has become one of the best in-ring workers in the company. Tanner seems very similar to Dolph in the aspect that both of them had know prior in ring experience. Though Tanner may never reach the point Dolph has in the ring, and I think Tanner showed a good potential on the show. - Daria: based on in ring skills I do believe that she was the top of the competition and still don't know how she didn't win the show. Either way she deserves another shot at making it because if Eva can get a contract then anyone can. No but seriously Daria was by far the best women on the show in ring wise and only has room for improvement if given the chance to improve. - GiGi: As far as personality GiGi takes the cake and the tops the list in this aspect, because it seemed like her personality on the show came natural to her and that is the best time of talented wrestler to have. Much like Sarah Lee was a very nice, respectable, and lacking the ability to show negative emotions on the show. Just like those qualities came natural to Sarah, the ability to be a "heel" seemed to come natural to GiGi. All of these prospective possibilities have the opportunity to improve and grow to the potential they displayed on the show if given the opportunity to do so. I just hope they don't make a mistake by bring back people who don't deserve the opportunity and would wasted. I think this also could prove that the show will not be returning at all after the wash this season was.
