2018 Year End Award: Match of the Year12/27/2018 The fact is that I think this is just as tough as to find the right matches that fit the specific credentials that a "Match of the Year" would fit. Right now more than ever a lot of fans believe that some matches deserve the credentials, but I think you have to narrow the focus to accurately compare the action. In reality some matches aren't on the same level as other matches and in my opinion the matches that are a level above are the matches that should be the ones that we focus on. Fact is that this is one of my favorite awards to give out, because I feel like this is one of those moments that we always remember. You know the last award we gave away was focused on the moments and this is very similar. Wrestling is a profession about the moments and the matches are among the top of the list when it comes to things you always remember. Match of the Year

2018 Year End Awards: Feud of the Year12/23/2018 With two awards down we now move to the next award which is the "Feud of the Year" for 2018. One problem in modern wrestling is that it is rare to see a feud hit that mark often. In my opinion in some cases Impact Wrestling succeed in this department a lot more then the WWE did this year which says a lot about both companies. If you factor in NXT though I think that is the only way the WWE would get the edge, because for me it seemed like most of the feuds in WWE were rushed instead of having a long term goal in mind. Now that the little description is out of the way let's jump and see which feud's from 2018 are up for the award this year: Feud of the YearLAX vs OGz
Eddie Edwards vs Sami Callhan Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Johnny Gargano vs Tomasso Ciampa

As a wrestling fan the best segments have the most quotable phrases and verbiage. In my opinion I enjoy being able to look back at a promo or a particular segment and quote it. In some cases I can quote a segment word for word or when someone says a phrase I think of the time it was used in a wrestling segment. Specifically when someone says "It was me" I always think about the high power revel when Vince McMahon was reveled as the higher power. "It was me Austin, it was me all along Austin!" by far this was my favorite quote of all the years I have been watching wrestling. With that being said now it's time to move to the favorite quotes of some followers I asked: Attitude of Aggression: "It's art.... you don't need pants" (Taken from the Festival of Friendship segment and was said by Kevin Owens) Robbie: "As God as my witness, he is broken in half!" Best quote in history of WWE - Jim Ross (King of the Ring 1998) Carter: Right now I'm really into the stuff that gets the crowd involved. So I'd say Styles when he goes "The house that A J Styles built" or even Braun when he says "Get these Hands!" For more from those above:

Year End Awards: Tag Team of the Year12/17/2018 With the "Wrestler of the Year" all but decided at this point it is time to move onto the next award for the year. Though in most companies tag team wrestling has really taken a backseat as far as importance is considered compared to their singles counterparts, I still believe it's important. That being said let's open the door into the WWE's insanely deep yet often repetitive tag team division and not just WWE but everywhere to find the Tag Team of the Year. Though I was thinking about opening voting for the "Stable of the Year" award due to the amount of active stables in wrestling, but I think that keeping it simple would be better. In modern wrestling tag teams are often overlooked in favor a top singles act and this isn't the fans fault it is all based around booking compare Young Bucks booking to that of a WWE tag team. Let's see who is up for the award this year: Tag Team of the Year

Year End Awards 201812/11/2018 It's that time of year again for us to look back at the last year and see how well the last year has gone for the wrestling business. One of my favorite parts of the year is setting up the awards and letting you all decide who gains the honor this year. Now even though last year we introduced a new award I think the amount of awards we have is the right amount or at least that is how I feel right now. As always we will be awarding the Wrestler, Tag Team, Feud, Match, and Underrated Wrestler of the year. The polls will be opening tomorrow starting with the Wrestler of the Year award. This poll will be up for two days before the winner is declared like always it will be in three stages splitting it up between two four person polls and one two person to allow for everyone who should included to be included. Running the Award polls this way should allow us to finish award season ahead of the New Year or at least be wrapping up come 2019. Either way take a look below at who will be up for Wrestler of the Year in 2018: 2018 Wrestler of the Year

With the recent news that Indy standout Walter has officially signed with the WWE and will be reporting to NXT in the near future. Though I don't know a lot about Walter, I do know a fair amount about Zack Sabre Jr. and think this match was well put together. Seeing Lars Sullivan moving up to the main roster a spot maybe opening up for a similar type of talent like Walter. At one point though this match was between two of the top unsigned talent in wrestling and now another way to describe this match is including by far one of the best pure wrestlers in the world. Back in the 1990's Dean Malenko was the "Man of 1,000 Holds" and now Zack Sabre Jr. is the guy that can tie you in knots on the mat. It is interesting though with the WWE's current working agreement with Evolve it would be interesting to see if Evolve will return the favor to WWE or if NXT will be the only one sending talent to the company. In my opinion though I would love seeing Zack Sabre Jr back in the WWE again, but that doesn't really seem like it will happen anytime soon. Either way though enjoy the action!!!

For the better part of the last year or so things have seemed to be heading south as far my association with Youtube and content creation in general. At the start of this site I knew that I also wanted to do Youtube and had big plans for that side of things, but none of them really took place as I was aiming high from the start and maybe expected more than I should've. Fact is I still do like making Let's play's and discussion videos with friends, but its just a little harder to do. I know that the easy thing to do would be to pin the blame on work and not having enough time, but that's not really the truth.
In reality I think the one thing that has changed is that I don't really have as much an interest in solo content like I did anymore. Even though I do have some videos planned like more Top 10's I just really haven't gotten around to it and interest in general doesn't seem to be that high. The only content I still have interest in is when I record with other people rather than just doing it alone which makes it hard to make new content when I have to find someone to record with all the time. Overall I don't think Youtube will ever really go away completely from the site as I do still enjoy recording, I think I just I have to figure out a better way to get things done and maybe figure out why it was fun to start. Thank you all for the support on the Youtube channel and for taking a look at that side of things, but the main site will always be the more important side of the site. Just wanted to give an update!

The New Promotion Has a Name12/1/2018 Recently a variety of wrestling sites have been reporting about a new wrestling promotion being in development. Reports have stated that everyone from Jim Ross & Chris Jericho to the Young Bucks & Cody Rhodes have a part in the promotion and though some of it is a little clearer, let's go over what we know at this point and time. From the latest it seems that co-owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL franchise Tony Khan is the financial backer of a new wrestling promotion. The report goes on to mention that the former Bullet Club members Cody Rhodes, Marty Scrull, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks could all be involved in some way with the promotion. In recent months a lot has been talked about regarding the future of The Elite in Ring of Honor & New Japan as every member mentioned above has an expiring contract. To date only Marty Scrull & Cody Rhodes have turned down extension with ROH & Cody has already stated that he would want to remain with New Japan. As far as where things are with the current IWGP World & Tag Team Champions not much is known about there futures, but if what they've been saying is true it seems possible they are all staying together. The thing that makes this story all the more interesting is that we now have a name for the new promotion All Elite Wrestling. We found out the name after they filed for trademarks in early November with the above name one of the trademarks. Other trademarks include:
Note: For those who might not be aware the address attached to the trademarks that were filed for AEW was 1 TIAA Bank Field Drive which is the same address of the Jaguars stadium. This brings most fans to believe that Tony Khan or his family will be involved in this company in some way, but we definitely need to know more before making any rash judgments. Stay tuned!! |
