The Doug Basham Effect

This is a new series I am getting going with by far the most interesting title for any series I have ever come up with. Even though, Doug Basham would become a successful part of the Smackdown Tag Team division in the mid-2000's but during his time in OVW he was actually a main event heel. You see, Doug was one of Danny Davis first trainee at the school which helps since he is Danny's nephew. During his time in OVW they booked Doug at first as Danny's family, but then they put him under a mask and called him The Machine with the gimmick being that Doug quit the wrestling business.

​Later he would be in-masked and for the remainder of his time in OVW they would be using him as Danny Davis's nephew. The time when everything changed was when Doug was instructed by the main roster to shave his head so they could see what he looked like bald. This would derail his career in not just OVW but WWE also.  This series takes a look at missed opportunities by the creative team or gimmick changes the likes of Doug Basham.
